Those people who believe the words of castro can't see that these are rather the "hopes" of a sick, almost at the brink of death murderous despot who has always wanted to be known and famous the world over by his lies about the plight of the Cuban people meanwhile we were/are all wasting away, suffering and going hungry under the Socialist/Communist dictatorship.

Well look at what we know of the ship movements and build-up.

The US has two carriers and a force of ships basically designed to shoot down missiles, and launch missiles and maintain air supremacy. But it's not an invasion sized fleet.

I think Israel is going to attack, and the US is going to try and defend from an Iranian counter strike but not actually invade the country yet.

And even better yet...lets take this a step further even. What else has been in the news recently? General McCrystal's comments THAT HE KNEW DAMN WELL WOULD MAKE IT BACK TO OBUMMER! The man is no idiot.

Why? Also...whereas your assumption of 2 U.S. naval battle groups not being an "invasion sized fleet" (I am a 20 year naval vet and I beg to differ with that assertion but I digress), LETS NOT FORGET HOW MANY TROOPS DO WE HAVE....STAGED IN AFGHANISTAN RIGHT NOW?

With the latest what...20k troop surge ALL to chase an elusive and mostly made up (in my belief) enemy around the mountains of Afghanistan when with our superior C4ISR capabilities we STILL need such a massive ground force for combat operations over there?

Man I am telling you....something sure smells rotten in Denmark over all this latest news :-/ The stage is being set folks. It has been being set for years now. I think General McCrystal knew what was up and that they were going to go through with the plan and had enough, so he did what he did to make an exit without a security incident. With the troop strength in Afghanistan, and our naval presence in the Gulf....our assets could be shifted rapidly towards Iran if this goes to hell.

My .02

Even I feel that the "official" course of events that led to the exit of Gen. McChrystal could have been a cover up. It is possible that the General might have disagreed with the "agenda" that is about to unfold. There are enough assets in the region. Also, we must not forget the USAF predator and reaper drones that are "allegedly" located in Baluchistan, Pakistan.

Yeah, that's your problem. The fact you are willing to listen to anything from any politician, much less dictators for life, is ridiculous at best. These people in power don't give a damn about anyone but themselves.

And if you hadn't figured it out yet, they all lie about everything, constantly.

I don't think it's about supporting Castro.... it's more like the US government has gotten so bad that Castro looks like an angel in comparison. I mean do you see Castro aerial spraying his own people?... or allowing oil and chemicals to wash up onto their beaches making his people sick?... or sending his young to die overseas for foreign corporations?.... I mean the US government has gone totally rogue... it's way out of control... they hate the American people... they want to poison them through the water, the food, through vaccines.... The US government (and you can throw the Canadian government in there as well) are worse than the mob.... I mean would the Italian mob wipe out an entire ocean just to pass favorable legislation? This government is run by insane psychopaths... they are not human.

Well my thinking is the trouble we've had with insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan. 200k+ troops wasn't enough to pacify a nation of 20 million. Iran has 66 million.

Our boys have had a lot of trouble maintaining law and order in Afghanistan and Iraq and it's entirely due to their numbers. They needed and should have gotten more troops to do the job.

So the fact we don't have over half a million troops over there suggests to me that it will be a strike on the nuclear plants, followed by an effort to contain collateral damage and keep the straights open. Rather than an invasion with a view to regime change.

Neither do I. And quite frankly I like to keep an open mind. I'm smart enough to wade through the lies I've been doing it for years. I know rhetoric when I see it.

Fact is that I'm not just going off Castro's word here. ATS has been watching this sabre rattling and warmongering for months now. We can see the troop movements, watch every side say their bit. Watch the military buildup. Watch the sanctions.

I've seen a lot of "Kill the messenger" in this thread. But I've not seen much against the message.

Ie we are going to war with Iran and there are going to be oil and food disruptions.

Many might say that this blog is merely propaganda or the sick fantasies of an insane dictator but I think it's very much in context to current events and there are many many other sources we can use to confirm this. There have been so many good contributors here on ATS following this situation and doing their research.

It's such a shame to see people come into a thread and make a single paragraph post about something being stupid or propaganda or lies when they could just be using the search function because all this has been covered here on ATS.

I am pretty sure I wrote "were/are". I was talking in plural as i still have a lot of family in Cuba including two sisters, cousins, grandmother, and uncles who I try to keep in contact one way or the other.

One of my uncles gets sent to Venezuela and we are able to keep in contact from there more often. He is one of the doctors who keeps being sent to Venezuela. His wife divorced him because they barely see each other but it is not a choice he can make.

Back in 2001 when my parents and I visited our family in Cuba the worse day for me was when we took some of our older family members to the "rich tourist stores" to buy them some food they normally can't buy for a couple of months. One of my aunts who is the other doctor, she didn't want to take my small cousins because she did't want them to see all the food, and toys that rich tourists, and the Cuban elites get to buy to their children, she left crying that day because she couldn't afford to buy toys, or even any of the food displayed for the Communist elites and for the tourists, my heart just sank that day. I knew it was like this, but seeing my aunt cry like that was just heartbreaking.

We went to Cuba with two suitcases of clothes, and left only with the clothes we had on.

I had brought with me some personal stuff which I knew I was leaving to my young relatives but I brought them as personal items, you have to send stuff to Cuba through agencies that give money to the castro regime who gets a percentage of what you send and there are things you can't send, such as a small binocular, a watch and some other stuff which I gave as gifts to some of my cousins.

You think I don't suffer knowing in what conditions my own sisters and rest of the family are living in right now?

I actually hate it, and I can't understand how some people are so naive, and who have never lived in Cuba as a Cuban or have ANY family there, yet such people want to claim all these stories are a lie, and that castro and his regime are wonderful...

You may call their bluff, but who is to say the aggressor will truly be the one we are told is the aggressor. You are in a conspiracy forum, surely you understand how things work. Even if Iran does not instigate anything the demonic, bloodthirsty warmongers that control Washington and Israel will do what they have planned to do.

The best thing to do is to monitor some of these so called elites and watch for them to migrate into their underground bunker cities. Then we will know its game on.

1st of July in 10 min here in Sydney. Interesting to see how Castro's predictions play out. Needles to say, whether or not his chronology proves true or not, war is an imminent certainty.

Also keep in mind that even if you do not beleive in the biblical prophecy side of things, I truly suspect that these cretins do, and they are fullfiling these prophecies for they beleive themselves to be gods. Hence this will be the war to end all wars and Nuclear bombs are made for bombin and not for gathering dust.

Anyways, Ima start diggin my bunker, wish castro gave us a bit more notice.

No...castro puts people in jail for writing or speaking about freedom, his thugs beat people who are regular "intellectuals, and other regular people beause they want a better way of life for their families and all Cubans. You get to lose your job, and can't find a job since all jobs are owned by the STATE, as it is in Socialism/Communism...

There are still many Cubans trying to leave the island one way or another, some get caught, some drown, some get eaten by sharks and only a few are able to escape, and what does castro do?...

If you get caught trying to leave you are sent to indoctrination camps, you do even more hard labor for free, if not get sent to prison. Some of these people even get executed, or dissapear completely and are never seen or heard from again.

Castro orders migs of his to shoot down passenger planes from Hermanos Al rescate (Brothers to the Rescue) who are only trying to help Cubans survive the horrors of the shark infested waters off Cuba...

Castro starves his own people, and keeps them under the tight grip of a Socialist dictatorship.

If you live in the U.S. you really haven't experienced a dictatorship yet...we are getting close, but it is still nothing in comparison to what other people go through in Socialist/Communist dictatorships... meanwhile you get the "useful idiots" who want Socialism and even Communism in the U.S....

+10000000000000000000000000 stars.

Its funny how people still talk in political terms when it is obvious that true power is behind the political structure and pervades the globe as we know it. Sure there may be pockets that have not been sucked up in this centralised power structure (perhaps Iran) but they surely are divided and stand llittle chance. The game that will unfold is the game taht we have been conditioned for. We will take sides and do what our leaders tell us to do for the war effort. Apart from a good old fashioned depopulation the real victims will be well...... everyone, absolutely everyone, except those that are orchestrating the whole thing from secured underground installations. People need to realise what you say is true, they are not human. Whether you beleive in the reptilians, anunnaki business or not, their psychopathological drive to inflict pain death and destruction upon the earth removes them from any association with myself. Either they are alien or I am for I cannot comprehend their actions past present and future.

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. You are allowed you ideology and to support your corrupt government that is running this nation into the ground but they are not?

Put yourself in their shoes. Let's pick the Iranians for the sake of staying current. Your country is a target for colonization. You see it coming. You don't want it. Foreign influences start manipulating your government. Troops surround you, show up on your soil. You wouldn't fight back?

Wow! Perfect example of the naivety of the ideology I was discussing! "I will support this person even though he/she has the same amount of extremism and insanity......just from the other side of the political and ideological spectrum".

If extremism isn't wiped out we will never see real peace, prosperity, or have any sliver of hope. Hope lies in bringing generosity and care for people to the forefront of people's minds. Hope lies in abolishing greed and not in the extremism of dictators and corporate industrial war machines. Supporting extremism is supporting ignorance, hate, war, poverty, and ingornance. Supporting dictators like Castro, who rule ruthlessly (even though he may oppose the industrial war complex that is the United States) supports hate, war, greed, and is nothing less than extremist ideology. Supporting governments like the current US of A is no different.

The extremism is ripe on this forum. It is extremism that drives many conspiracies and it needs its checks and balances. The article from Castro is nothing different. Is the same extremism that he has always spouted. He is propogating hate for the United States war machine, which i agree with. However, he is doing it in a way that is beyond the actual threat.

People have been predicitng war with Iran for 5+ years now. It hasn't happened because some of the world has enough sense to oppose US and Israeli imperialism. However, does this mean I shower praises on and / or support Ahmadinejad? Does it mean I support his country and ideologies? No, they are just as repulsive as the imperialism from the USA and Israel. Whose side would I take if war breaks out? I don't have to take a side. I can oppose both extremes. I can see the fact that war would only increase USA and Israeli imperialism and it would only increase extremist Muslim ideology in Iran and much of the Middle East. I take a noninterventionalist stance and say that if we promote peaceful trade and generosity and don't get tangled in the political affairs of the world around us we can promote peace in the greatest degree.

And you forget, that someone who is an enemy of your leaders may well just have a personal reason for saying things that are the truth, if it works against his enemies.

No one has to sell me on the idea that world leaders lie. But discounting everything based on that is also a fallacy. Dont promote mindlessness. Either mindless acceptance or rejection of information.

Everything we acquire in terms of knowledge or opinion needs to be evaluated on its own, and in context with other bits of information we have. Fidel is speculating. Obviously. But as someone who has led a country in Irans position, he may have insights that matter.
