Lasco 2

Can anyone explain what this is? I've been visiting the solar website for a really long time and haven't seen anything like this before. Is it a huge star or something else? Maybe it's just a glitch, but it's really peculiar. What do you think?

Mercury is the bright object near the sun right now, or are you talking about something else?

Probably Mercury or Venus...my guess would be Mercury.

Ok, thanks. Didn't have a clue and didn't realize Mercury was that close to the sun that it would show up like that. Pretty cool though.

Yes we get several threads a year like this where people wonder what Mercury is doing near the sun. So you're not the only one.

Yeah, it`s pretty hot. Not as hot as venus, but still pretty hot. I`d recomend using an spf 50... 50 MILLION! OH man, am I a character, or what? I kill myself, every time! But hey, good lookin out bro, there is no such thing as a stupid question. Never forget that!
