Italian PM: Israel ‘will probably react preemptively’ on Iran

rawstory.com

Has the leader of Italy's government revealed how the global community plans to handle Iran?

That's entirely possible, according to a report from Israel which cites Silvio Berlusconi as telling reporters at the G8 summit in Toronto, "Iran is not guaranteeing a peaceful production of nuclear power, [so] the members of the G8 are worried and believe absolutely that Israel will probably react preemptively."

He added that the G8 nations "absolutely believe" Israel will attack Iran, according to Haaretz.

More information to store in your mind about alliances and reasons should there be "war" against Iran.

Many countries have now weighed in on where their alliances might be, from the UN vote on sanctioning Iran, with Brazil and Turkey coming out against them, and Lebanon abstaining.

We also have the usual rumblings from Venezuela and N, Korea. Is Venezuela the new plane on the axis of evil?

Is there something like a "Allience World Map" that you could post up to here and share it? It would be interesting to see who IS on who's side *WHEN - Not if* for World War Three.

The closest I've seen so far is the MAP topic Thermo Klein put up here

I've been using info from UN and G20 goings on to suss out who's maybe allied with who, but we all know alliances can change at the drop of a hat if the right deals are made or someone pisses the wrong country off.

The list of Non-Aligned Movement countries is here

The countries in the Shanghai Corporation Oraganization security alliances are here

If you interested in how the countries all line up as far as military power, look here

Yes, the maneuvering that goes into planning a good, effective war takes time. This last happened in about 2007.

Wouldn't it be nice if non-involvement in this sordid little regional squabble really was an option?

It sure would be. But...they have their ways. Wheeling and dealing their way to get what they want.

You know, though, we went through this with Iraq. I think the other nations are a lot more suspicious this time. Watching very carefully.

I've been thinking more and more that the IDF acts like the SS and israel is very much like the Nazis.

Doing this would prove it.

Dwight D. Eisenhower: Preventive war was an invention of Hitler. Frankly, I would not even listen to anyone seriously that came and talked about such a thing.

A socialist country with the seventh largest oil reserves in the world who will not let the oil mongers in to rape its resources being put on the axis of evil?

What a surprise.

Venezuela is just a matter of time. What I wonder is, are they ramping up all the aggression against resource holding nations because they want to use up as much of America's resources, (military) as they can before we buckle under debt and are of no more use to them?

It seems to me the only reason for them to even think of pursuing more aggression anywhere is if they were aware that the US was about to go bankrupt and so they are going on a last minute spending spree on our credit card. Because there is no RESPONSIBLE reason to keep attacking nations who are no threat to us, and spend trillions more we already dont have.

Wow. I've not seen that quote before. It certainly does fit. Ironic, isn't it?

Man, the whole Middle East situation just makes me mad. There is so much hypocrisy going on that it's disgusting. How the USA and Israel get away with policing nuclear weapons will never make any sense to me. I mean, how do they justify telling other countries that they cannot own such weapons when they possess who knows how many themselves? Sickening.

And then there's the subject of terrorism. The War on Terrorism. What a joke. The war zones that have been created as a result of that war create far more terrorism than what they claim to be fighting against. The War on Terror is nothing but terrorism under the guise of "making the world a safer place". Millions of people are either living in a craphole, thanks to the pollution and radiation that the US military is living behind, or living in fear for their lives because they may be subject to the next attack.

Thanks for posting those links.
Did you know that Australia does have just over half the world supply of uranium and the country does have a poop load of coal.

Key word. Responsible. The U.S. is really running out of excuses for its interventionist policies, don't you think? People were already wise to it in Iraq are seeing more and more through their efforts to rile things up. It's clear that Israel and the U.S. want Iran badly. It's been clear for over 13 years now. Syria too. Looking at a map really helps you begin to see why.

Precisely. The shadow boxing has been going on for far too long.
