100+ flags "Best of ATS" forum!

Seeing a list of "Best of"s would be awesome! I live in the San Fran Bay Area and had never heard of any Fema train conspiracy. I happened to do a search on San Francisco and came across this great thread on Fema Trains (or lack thereof) with 130+ flags!!

Not sure it's a great idea for server storage but it would be a great marketing tool for noobys.

Good Idea, either that or a top 50 threads required reading to get someone up to speed.

I think when we move to the new ATS you'll be able to see the most flagged threads for each and every forum.

I'm not 100% on it and we’ll just have to wait till it’s unveiled but I think there’s a link you can press on the main page of each forum (next to where you can click on ‘replies’ to see the threads with the most replies right now) that will show them all.

That's helpful but not easy for new people to find. Also, there are 219 pages of thread titles in this forum alone - could take a while.

yes, i agree there should be a best of ats forum.

[Let me define a term] By 'popular' I mean more flags.

Such a feature would direct attention away from unpopular threads...

Just because a thread has more flags, that does not necessarily make it more important than lets say;

'North Korean Submarine detected in the Long Island Sound' would be completely swept under the radar for most, with only 5 flags.

People would begin to only visit the Best of ATS, and then conspiracies, breaking news, and discussions would be unveiled more often on the basis of popularity.


Just my 3 cents. As long as there is still a way to direct attention to all threads, this won't be such a bad idea. But knowing social behavior, people would begin to horde the 'Most popular of ATS'.

(Besides, there exists several features to direct you to threads that have many flags or replies.)

I agree, I was just trying to give you a heads up on what's being added in the future as far as I'm aware.

Don’t get me wrong though I like your idea and I think it would be a great addition to the site as well as very helpful to ‘newer’ members as well.

I can't help wondering though if you are talking about a separate forum for the best threads, does that mean those threads will be moved from their chosen forums?

So for example will a paranormal thread and/or a Breaking Alternative news thread be placed in the same forum (the ATS best threads forum) or will they be duplicated thus remaining where they are AND being in the new forum?
