Whats going on ATS? Recently a lot of the topics on other message boards are the Iphone 4 antenna problem. I don't have the Iphone 4 yet, but it seems some folks are having a common problem. Apparently, the phone loses reception when you hold it the exact same way you held the last 3 versions of the phone. Apple claims something along the lines of 'your just holding it wrong'. Well, with a robust production team, this sounds a little fishy to me. I am not going to say that apple is out to get us... but I've connected some dots!

Let me remind everyone that Apple, was the company that told the world, you could not purchase more than 2 IPads per individual. You could also not buy the Ipad with cash, and had to strictly purchase them through credit.

Alright, So what happens when you hold an Antenna, some claim when you hold a radio Antenna, the single becomes clear. Since Antennas work with radio waves, there are those who claim that radio waves have effects on humans. What do you guys think about this? Since the phone is a constant transmitter of information, whether you turn it off, or not talking on it... there is now an Antenna that wraps all around the border of the IPhone 4. Since human beings are able to conduct electricity, and since supposedly... the public is 60+ years behind on REAL TECHNOLOGY... What do you think are the possibilities, of our thoughts being stolen through the phone system. Now, hear me out... I understand this sounds like science fiction, but you do have to admit, with the way thins are going in science, a lot of things are possible. So imagine that, a phone that knows where you are at all times... and steals your thoughts. What does ATS think? *BTW does anyone know, if there are any movies based on this theory?

This is hardly newsworthy of ATS.

I wouldn't doubt it but they can already do this recording your surfing habits, what you gravitate towards, what your conversations are, how quick you click on a link, the content, what times of the day, what you use as passwords, what are your user names, how long you are on and off the internet, how quick you type, the pauses between keystrokes, how often you edit your blogs/posts etc. I could go on with many more variables in play.

They build a psychological avatar of your inner most workings using this.. As you know they tailor advertisement and content towards you.

As far as reading your thoughts through cell transmissions I believe they transmit info to you not from you with the carrier waves.

Babybunnies, If you have nothing good to say don't say anything at all.

As for OP, This is a good topic as it addresses public privacy issues. Here's a question if you didn't know someone was stealing things from you, would you be likely to report it? If they are stealing infomation such as brainwaves, I don't think anyone would even kick up a fuss about it because it seems so far fetched. I personally think its a bit out there. I don't disagree about the fault tho I have also heard the Iphone4 is having issues with dropping calls, if operator isn't holding it the "right way" according to apple.

I read somewhere that it is because the casing on the prototype was of the older generation iphones so it was nothing new to the untrainned eye. The antenna problem wasn't a problem with the prototype. It seems to now be a problem in the new housing.

I have heard apple are working on an update because they believe its a software problem... which is funny as they said we were holding it wrong...

my 2 cents.

Hey man, interesting thread... please ignore others rudeness.

Acutally, I think that's a decent bit of speculation on your part, of course we'll never know (until it's too late), but it may not be that science-fictiony.

New research from the University of Southampton has demonstrated that it is possible for communication from person to person through the power of thought -- with the help of electrodes, a computer and Internet connection. Brain-Computer Interfacing (BCI) can be used for capturing brain signals and translating them into commands that allow humans to control (just by thinking) devices such as computers, robots, rehabilitation technology and virtual reality environments.

Brain-computer interfaces are the stuff of sci-fi legend, used a million times to further the plot of a thousand different books. And now they're also real, (nearly) buyable products: Thanks to Intendix you can think your PC into action. Guger's Intendix system is a skull-cap like electro-encephalogram sensor and accompanying electronics. You slip the cap over the head, and its myriad micro-sensitive detectors pick up the electric fields your thoughts generate. Just like those thought-sensing games that are just hitting the streets, the electronics interpret the signals coming from your head and turn it into a meaningful output. In this case Intendix translates the signals into a keyboard-like response, letting you type without moving a finger.
