I wonder if the knocking is a sign to the person outside to start walking, that the camera is rolling. Also you can see that the supposed alien grabbing for the chair that it knocks over. Also what startled it? I mean the camera had a bright light on it. That is what was making the alien disappear.

This footage could be fake or not but there is nothing odd about the look of the alien imo considering it in an ufologic context.I mean there has been some cases in wich people has described aliens wearing tacky suits with weird belts tightened since the 50s.

Anyone else notice that at the 16 seconds-mark, the chair disappears along with the alien?

yes, he says he and his brother had beeb hearin.....his brother put him up to it! yoy know, get the two of them together with their new camera....

The guy holding the camera is also holding another light source, possibly a torch or another IR capable torch.

If you watch the chair, and only the chair, you will see this secondary light source moving about.

The IR light is being reflected heavily off the glass and then the secondary light moves off the chair and the 'alien' at intervals which makes them both seem to dissapear.

You will also notice the two horizontal lines in the right hand side background.

It looks like they have light falling on them from yet another source (moon, street light, house lights etc).

The oddest thing, imo, is that you can still see these lines when the 'alien' dissapears. If it was a real person there, then you would see their silouhette.

With the combination of at least three different light sources, this is going to be hard work to actually get to the bottom of it.

Yes, it could be a prank, yes it could be partly computerised images, but we have to consider the possibility that whatever this 'being' is wearing is capable of some form of light trickery that allows it to dissapear like it does.

From a debunking point of view, all these factors have to be taken into consideration to sort through the reality of this vid.

But the icing on the cake which tells me this is faked, is that if you watch the chair, very closely, from 10 seconds to 13 seconds you will notice that it moves position before the 'alien' gets anywhere near it.

This moving chair stinks of re-takes. These re-takes could explain our 'dissapearing' alien.

I too tend to think that this is probably a hoax, especially considering the BS "news article" and the chair-shove; however, there are a few details which make me think that there's something else going on.

At the beginning, I said to myself: "Clearly CGI."

In the middle, the alien vanishes once or twice.

At the end, I said to myself: "Clearly a guy in a suit."

I don't see any editing jumps, but that could just be my inexperience; and it could be that I, like a few other people, misidentified a real person as CGI because of lighting or angles or somethin'. But... I think this does warrant a little more investigation.

Anyone who looks at this long enough will realize...that is a PERSON. Even an 8 yr. old kid can tell you that.

From the very first sentence of the OP you should be able to tell you are being "set up". Get this thing out of here and MOVE ON.

Yeah this is definitely A hoax, you would think that through all this time researching ufos and aliens we would know this.

The video lacks any form of context. A real video of this magnitude would have the film shooter commentating, probably quietly, to add context. Something like:
(whispering) "Hey guys, I just heard a noise outside so I got up to see what it was. I saw a shadowy figure in my backyard, so I grabbed my camera and turned on the nightvision. Let's see what it i-OH MY GOD! Whoa! What is that?? Are you guys seeing this? (etc...)"

Nobody just calmly and quietly films a REAL alien in their backyard, for only 30 seconds. Nobody.

"Well he ran away, guess I'll stop filming and SAY NOTHING."

Yeah, it's pretty apparent too. I guess researchers aren't really looking at the video, because it's a totally obvious fake, when the chair and alien disappear for a full second.

This in my personal opinion is indeed an alien/ET.

Looking at the way it moves in relation to a human being, you can see why UFO researchers think this is real, this is one of the clearest alien footage we have EVER seen on this site ATS. Thanks OP for bringing it to our attention
