By the way I never claimed to be an expert. I never claimed I was right about anything either. I am asking questions, posting evidence and we can debate it. We are not being told anything by BP other than a few numbers here and there. So yeah I might be wrong and I am willing to admit I am when it comes to it. So far though since none of us are experts, I cannot asay any of us are right about anything. But at least we can discuss it when MSM isn't looking.

If there is "no oil leak" anymore, and oil isn't rising up from the sea floor, then why did Skandi ROV 1 just pick up a dispersant wand?

Because BP is determined to poison the fricken planet with dispersant! Seriously, this dispersant use is out of control, and someone should spray the nasty shi*t in their faces to test how safe it is!

The failure of the federal gov to control the use of this from the start is appalling, and I hope there are lawsuits against the gov as a result. The damage to wildlife by it is believed to catastrophic by most scientists. Any how, sorry for getting off topic with my rant but it's maddening.

On this exact point, and the other issues of no hazmat protection for workers, I put the definition of Manslaughter up on the 360 Blog Site on CNN ... they can decide if they want to roll out stronger language at this point or wait until BP start trying to duck medical claims.

thanks for encouraging me to finally check out oildrum more in depth.

it is refreshing to see that there is considerably less hysteria and significantly more informed posts over there at the moment.

I like how they call this "sea floor monitoring" or BOP monitoring" and these ROVs have either been staring at the same spot for hours then resurface only to look at the same exact spot(s) when it comes down. Or that the lights are almost always off so you cannot see anything...If they are supposed to be monitoring "the sea floor" they should moves these things around a bit more and ACTUALLY monitor the sea floor, not just at the same spots all the time. And why bother sending them down if they are not even going to be able to see what's going on (without lights)?

i don't see anyone as hysterical here. I think most of us, in this thread, are discussing valid issues to which we have no answers. I also don't think pointing out possible issues as being hysterical either. Yes we are probably making mistakes, but no one is saying what we see is definite and 100% fact. Again...no one has claimed to be an expert, at least in the past few days.

See my above post about what isn't going on with the feeds
They are all there. Bubbles still leaking from that pipe every 45 seconds or so. That is about it.

I'm curious to know if anyone checked the UTMs? It was my understanding from another thread that there were 2 to 3 different readings...that the Lat & Long were different for the cameras, the actual BOP, & the Lat & Long on the "Production Design Casing Report". Any clues? Leaning towards the live cams not the actual site during the major episodes. Hope this made since & also the right post...I'm new.

Thanks!!

EDIT: here is where i started it www.abovetopsecret.com... read from there forward and you should find posts from page 80 and up. Also look back a few pages like page 76 then read up to the most recent.

Yeah, interesting. The question is where the hell is Q4000 at? That's a looong way from where it's supposed to be. Boa Deep C is off somewhere else too just sitting there.

I just converted those feet to miles. Q4000 is 1382.5 miles away, nearly 1400 miles.

Great...GOT IT
Ok here is what I did...using the calculator BP Gulf Oil Spill ROV UTM Distance Calculator (thanks to Kratos1220) and using the video from June 13 of the rupture in the sea floor, here is what I came up with and this will be big.

Leak Location/Origin
N: 10431612.89
E: 1202796.25

Location of ROV at video below at the time of the rupture:
N - 10431634.45
E - 1202841.86

According to this calculator the Viking Poseidon ROV 1 was "21.56 feet north and 45.61 feet west of the leak point. The ROV was 50.45 feet away from the leak point" at the time the sea floor ruptured in video below.

Screen shot of calculations:

Now all you have to do is fix that youtube ID. All you need to paste in for the youtube video is everything appearing after the = sign in the address.

BOA DEEP C 1 is on a boat currently...awaiting another dive. The other BOA DEEP C 2 is also on a boat. The calculations you did would be 1,400 feet not miles

I converted 7300096.01 feet to miles and it comes out as 1382.5 miles.
