Niether.
I have done enough diving to know that the water is filled with plankton, food scraps from eatin fish, fish poo, etc. etc. etc.

You are just seeing the dirtiness of the ocean

Also, Q4000 – ROV 2 seems to be monitoring them.

thank you justadood for your pics....

looks like there is not a whole lot of discussion going on here.
My eyes are glued to the bolts... man those things are huge!
Now... waiting for them to kick that plate off and let the rush of oil begin!

I, and I assume many others, have found renewed interest in the live feeds.

Since they started working on the newest attempt to stop the flow I've checked on the feeds several times and even watched for a while as they removed some of the bolts. Looks like they're down to only two. That's progress in my book.

Now for the reason of my post, please forgive if I'm stating the obvious but it just occurred to me that the color of the oil is being changed by the Corexit that they are spraying directly into the stream coming out of the pipe.

The white pipe that is hooked on the side of the jagged remainder of the riser must carry the Corexit. The oil on that side of the pipe is dark. As you move toward the other side of the pipe the oil gets progressively lighter until directly on the other side it's a bright almost glowing orange.

i scanned away to another thread, and when i came back, Ocean Intervention III – ROV 1 changed views.

what happened to the shot of them removing the bolts?

I noticed the color change in the oil too!

I didn't realize how high up the "cap" is off the sea floor. It was taking the rov a little while to drop the bolts off and come back.

That was my other question.. there are now only 2 bolts holding the whole thing together at this point? Do they have the other cap down there waiting to install?

So how long is it estimated that this is going to free flow until they get something back on it?

They are saying two days...

source: www.foxnews.com...

but what they are not EMPHASISING.. is the fact that this will not contain the oil... but will only slow it down so they can get it into the ships. True containment won't happen until they drill two relief wells!

THERE WAS NOT AN EXPLOSION OR SPEW... we think there may be two bolts still holding the whole thing together. I too was anticipating the big BLOW UP. They did "TAP" the well head though to see if it was stable... that was interesting!

So now they are just playing in the toy box... they've done that for a while now... think they are waiting for the CAP.

Thank you Biblnet. I am watching now and they definitely are not showing the "spew". Just seems like you can see it in the murky background. They know we are watching from all over the world. Makes you wonder...

I am trying to figure out what DE ROV 1 is doing with that pipe right now. I don't think it is moving anywhere, looks like its just holding it.

Thanks for the update biblenet. removing the bolts was my favorite part of the evening!

If anyone can get video of them removing those final bolts and taking th old cap off, putting the new one back on, i'd be very happy.

off to bed, now...

it cut it earlier (see my image above), then tried to move it, seemingly unsuccessfully (or they werent ready yet) and then went into what appears to be the standby mode you are referring to

I was watching earlier in the day and noticed that 2 other rov where in the feed from the rov I was watching. When I looked on the main page that shows all the rovs at once I saw that there was only 1 other rov by the BOP. This would mean they have rovs that are not on the live feeds. Any one else notice this?
