Picture proof: Oil is gushing into Gulf of Mexico, or they opened the cap: Regardless it's oil.

Great catch! They said they were going to "flush the BOP out" before they change it....maybe that is what they are doing?

Check the time stamps, the feeds appear to be looping from 07:54???

Sorry, maybe it was just my computer, they appear to have correct time now.

All the ones I see have correct time and date. Factor in the time zone and generally 2 minute delay, its just about on schedule.

I know I'm late in replying about this, but anyway. And I'll try to keep it simple.

Methane "freezes" because of the pressure at that depth. It would have to be really hot for it all to turn to gas at a mile deep. (Or a big drop in pressure.) The water temperature in the deep areas is about 39 degrees F because that is the maximum density of water. Below that temp, it expands again, i.e., less dense (just like it expands when it freezes), and water colder than 39 will rise. That's what keeps lakes and oceans from freezing solid from the bottom up. The reason some methane is gas at that depth gets complicated, but just remember pressure plays a big part too, not just temperature.

A minute ago I posted that the BOP on Sub C was gushing....they put some kind of barrel on top of the place where it was spewing. At the bottom of the screen it says.."assisting at capping stack"

Great pics as usual Ektar! Well they took the barrel things off the top of that BOP....and now it is gushing darker stuff (oil?)....the rovs immediatly backed up further away so you can't see it well.....just look in the middle part of the top of it....

Still watchin Sub C....they keep putting the barrels on top of the bop....then taking them off....it is definitly spewing....the camera panned up above it several times and I thought I saw a big jet black cloud over it....and the rov keeps going back and forth looking at it.....they are doing something to the capping stack.

Sorry about all the edits....I put the wrong cam name and had to go back and correct it!

OK.....pretty certain there are clouds gushing up from the base.....and leaks from the top. Man...I hope this is them flushing it because if it's not....then it's nothing they planned on.

From Kent Wells Briefing August 19!
Operator: Your next question comes from the line of (Trip Hannah), The Oil Drum IRC.
(Trip Hannah): My question had to do with the ROV feeds. And, I’m just curious about the BOA SUB C ROVs and just wanted to point out that those feeds have never been released, and I was just curious if there’s a way we could get those released to the American public.
Kent Wells: Yes. I’m certainly not aware that we have not been making all our ROV feeds available; at least certainly any that are doing any sort of work. But, let me – I’m not looking at the ROV feeds right now, so, once again, let me take a look at that, and we’ll make sure that there’s full transparency on any ROV work that’s going on. But, appreciate there’s not a lot going on right now with the ROVs.

Notice that we are now seeing BOA SUB C feeds! This page has lots of good info to read when feeds are slow. www.theoildrum.com...

BOP is still spewing something from the bottom AND top......the yellow thing that Ektar posted pics of is pouring MASSIVE amounts of that green substance.

11:21 am....found another feed with a better view, and the stuff coming from the top is coming from the yellow cap that looked like it was leaking earlier....in fact, the substance it is spewing is the green substance (antifreeze?) which we have been seeing. It is just sitting there spewing large amounts of it. There is still plumes coming from the bottom of the BOP....
