Yeah I think you are right...but if you notice, half the feeds on the 4 camera screen are showing ROV feeds we never see unless they are on that split screen. So there are more ROVs there and we are not really being shown the footage. When that screen goes off...we don't see what goes on with those ROVs.

On topic but sorta off. Please try and stay on the oil part of this post

The US is going bonkers in regards to the leaked Afghanistan war files on Wikileaks. They call the leak criminal, a matter of national security, and a breach of military safety and such blah blah blah. It ticks me off so bad that the US will stand up and get so angry about those leaked documents, but when it comes to BP and the ROVs they barely say a word. They give us excuses and lies and contradict themselves in statements. Wasn't what BP did criminal? Didn't BP violate hundreds of safety protocols before the explosion? The spill could also mean a matter of national security when you have foreign entities coming abroad to help with this mess and to come on our soil who in the first place would otherwise not be here at all. It angers me that BP has gotten nothing but a slap on the wrist, and the US wants to burn Wikileaks to the ground. How sad and disgraceful. They order BP to do all the monitoring they can, yet their equipment barely works for more than an hour. BP agrees to government intervention, but then Thad Allen turns into a BP puppet. Now call me crazy but does anyone else see whats wrong with this picture?

just some questions.....
first....has anyone else noticed their computers shutting down when trying to view these feeds....it seems like my computer just decides to shut down after maybe 10 minutes or so.....kind of starting to wonder if maybe bp hasn't put a little bug into the feeds...or if these isn't one my computer....

also....

and I am sorry, I just don't know how to show you what I am seeing....
but skandi neptune, rov 2 is showing what looks more like a moonscape or something.....seems like there is a hole in the ground which at times I have seen crap coming out of it. a grate or something going across the front of the pic, and well, this one caught my interest awhile back, since while I was watching it, I could of sworn that the cracks were getting longer and bigger. now, unless that grate thing is part of the rov, well....it doesn't really look like the same landscape....

this image doesn't even look like it is undersea, and well, like I already said, it looks like the same landscape that was there when I originally got interested in it, but if it is, there's been massive changes to it...
anyone have any information as to what this is, is it the same area, and there's been that much change in the seafloor?

and well, outside of that, to me, things seem to be looking a little worse down there, the bob or whatever doesn't look the same to me, I've actually seen pink blobs floating around, and well, now rov 2 seems to be showing an eruption again, and now there's pretty green in the pic....

did they change the cameras, or are we getting newer and more colorful gases now???

bp or the gov't needs to start explaining what we are seeing on these things because well, the seem to be looking more frightening as time goes by......

but oh, there's no oil to be seen on the surface, so go and enjoy a nice vacation in the gulf......

ah yes, but ya see the gov't agencies involved with enforcing those laws that bp chose to ignore were also acting in a criminal fashion, ya know, taking bribes, looking at the kiddie porn, ect.......

when it's the gov't acting in a criminal way, well, don't expect an angry uproar from the gov't....
they are probably more angry at the fact that this event has interrupted their schedule of bribe payments.

Well the cracks MIGHT be where they have been dragging, burying, pulling and tugging on wires/ropes that are on the seafloor. So far, at least in recent days, I have not noticed any significant cracks on the floor. The grate you are referring to is just crappy pixilation of the screen because BP has changed the lighting on some of the ROVs. Why I have no idea. My PC has been fine. Never shuts down or crashes. The best browser to use is FireFox when viewing the feeds. Also stop any of the players that do not interest you or that are not playing a feed. Saves memory and bandwidth. I always thought they do something with the feeds...maybe pause them or what not. I find it odd for many feeds to work 100% fine for several hours and suddenly some will freeze for periods or shut down altogether.

The "hole" you might see on Skandi 2, is probably the shadow of the corner of the ROV. It has been mistaken for a hole several times, though people pointed out that it seems they like to sit right on top of holes and cracks. I think its more to cover up what is being seen. Yes it is on the seafloor, but I have no idea why they changed lighting to make it look more green. If I had to guess, they use it to distort things that might be there on the seafloor...at least for the public.

Yes I have seen a lot more blobs, and a few times seen massive red blobs float in front of the ROVs and they don't even flinch. I mean big enough to nearly take up the whole cam view.

The oil is not on the surface because they dispersed the hell out of it before. So not shocking. Also I have suspected for some time that a lots of it may already have entered the gulf stream. If so, then that oil will never be recovered until it hits shore somewhere. And that is a LOT of oil.

Skandi to moves from spot to spot as it surveys, probably propeller wash up. But I don't know why the sand is so brown when it happens. Again i would guess the dispersed oil theory. The seafloor is probably covered in oil and thus why they use weird lighting...but just a guess/theory.

You don't have to go to "the dark side" to find metal eating alien/nano/super bug believers. There's some right here on ATS and, no, I'm not one of them.

thank you.....

maybe they just made some changes with the rovs while they were out of the water during the storm, don't know.....

but things just kind of look worse now......and different...lol...

Steaming Video is quite demanding, especially when doing other stuff like screen grabbing and stuff. To my knowledge there is no tech that would enable them to embed anything in the streams that would effect your PC. If you pc does shut down then check to see whats running in the background as this all adds up to a 'load' on the pc and memory. Not knowing what spec you have its difficult to know what excactly is the problem but its highly unlikely to be something BP would be able to do.

When I first saw your post, I was confused & thought that it was just the quality of your pic. I have been watching pretty religiously for the past 2 1/2 months or so & had never seen this. I always come here & catch up & then go check the feeds since they have been so spotty lately. Right after catching up here I went to the live feeds & saw the exact same thing - Very pixilated film. I could see movement like bubbles, blobs but they were all pixilated. This is so GD annoying. I hate BP!!!!!! & the Gov't for not doing anything at all!

I am trying so hard to give everyone involved in the "fix-it" effort the benefit of the doubt but it is really becoming impossible as every day/hour passes. If this is not evidence of TPTB f'king with us then I don't know what is & what will wake people up!!!!!

I also want to say again how much I appreciate this thread & everyone involved. I feel so alone in my RL because everyone seems to want to think it is over and/or 100% fixable. It is so hard to convey that this is very far from over. This forum is the main reason I signed up to this site.

This is the best explanation of so many issues that I have seen so far! I have thought the same things many times & wanted to reply but just didn't have the energy to write it all out. It is obvious that you have been watching & being very reasonable at the same time. Thank you! A calm head is really important in the middle of this craziness.

The ROV feeds casn tax your computer quite a bit. It would be worth making sure your computer is running cool enough as the extra resources used in viewing media might be heating it up.

I came across this video and it is astounding! It is an underwater volcanic eruption caught on film...the rov was very close to it. Just a coincidence, but I would like to point out something I noticed.... the volcano spews out some green smoke. The same shade of green we have been seeing on the BP cams. Just a coincidence I'm sure! LOL!

This is sort of off topic as well... forgive me.

I feel the exact same way about the 9 people being charged for looking into Obama's School Loans. But you have that Billionaire Pedophile now set free, or you have the guy that bombed the airplane killing hundreds... now free... Our justice system just makes no sense anymore!

Back to the oil spill...

I saw you mentioned the four camera view on Olympic Challenger - ROV 2. It looks to me as four different ROVs and not four cameras on one ROV. What do you think?

Edit: I see that the top two are in sync with each other.. maybe ROV2 and the bottom two ROV 1??? The bottom left is the same as ROV1.

[edit on 7/27/2010 by Morpheas]

Morpheas I too have noticed that the particular screen with four cams on it. There are definitely 4 rovs and they are all looking at the same thing, but it's always too dark to see what. I know they are monitoring something, usually you can see the lights of at the other three rovs so they are facing each other. It's been like that for a few days. Maybe the other leak a few miles away?

My whole hit about the big blobs is that they are large aquatic animal parts. maybe you saw the remnenets of a very large animal such as an opened up Dolphin or even what was left of a small whale or large shark.

One strange thing is that there should be huge amounts of dead and chemically burned fish, but who knows maybe part of what coreexit does is to dissolve them too.

I cant make my own threads yet but Im sure everyone here will appreciate this little nugget;

Greenpeace have shut down more than 50 BP petrol stations across London this morning, on their website you can watch videos of it happening. Theyve actually fenced them off, shut off their oil flow and replaced their logo with the oily BP one.

Sorry for going off-topic, Im sure everyone here wont mind hearing this news though
