G-8 powers also sketch out five-year exit strategy for Afghanistan

HUNTSVILLE, Ontario — Briefly putting aside deep economic differences, top world leaders on Saturday condemned North Korea for the alleged sinking of a South Korean warship, set a five-year exit timeline for Afghanistan and said the standoff in Gaza was "not sustainable and must be changed."

In a joint statement, the leading eight industrial democracies also criticized both Iran and North Korea for continuing their nuclear march and called on both to heed existing United Nations resolutions.

Just some breaking news from the G8. Guess they're giving us an exit strategy for Aghanistan.

Some interesting little tidbits in the article. Russia stood up against tougher language on their spanking of N. Korea over the sinking of the S. Korean vessel.

The president of China's coming to visit the White House.

Overall this is a fairly lengthy and detailed report of the doings at the G8.
