The UK Official Secrets Act is a document signed by all Government workers and Contractors who are likely to come into contact with sensitive Government information. During the Cold War, even the document itself was classified SECRET.

To see a copy of the much talked about, but seldom seen UK Official Secrets Act, click on the links.

The first link shows the OSA Declaration.

The second link shows the reverse side of the document.

The reverse side shows extracts from the infamous Section 2 of the OSA. This was the "catch all" part of the Act. Nearly all spies were charged under this Section. The extract shows that you don't have to had signed the Declaration in order to be charged under the provisions of the Act.

Do examine the document. It's a part of Cold War history.

It does look like it's yellowed with age, but actually that is its real colour.

Every OSA I ever signed back in the 70s was that colour. I reckon the MOD got a cheap deal if they printed them on old envelope paper.
