I thank ATS members for so many discussions on growing your own food. Here's my very first fruit! Ok yeah its small but I have high hopes for it!

I'll be on full alert for any vermin that come near it!

Wonderful. This should be something to be proud of especially if you live in an urban setting. Regardless, I am always happy to see people take an interest
in the Plant world around us, not to mention growing your own fruits/veggies!

Welcome to the club.

First thing I ever grew was a pea. Still grow today from that same heirloom.

Best thing I ever did was grow my own food, almost completely store free 5 years later.

A lot of good posters here about gardens, gardening, organic, raised bed, storage, heirloom, any questions, ask. Gardeners love to share knowledge.

Too bad more people don't wake up and grow their own, but 1 is a start.

My plan is to keep my eye on this 1st melon while babying it to death and once it's grown into the worlds largest watermelon I'll charge a fee to see it. Can anyone say Grandiose delusions?

Thanks to the person who U2U'd me with this funny advice. They prefer to stay anonymous probably because they are male and talking of pantyhose.


Wrap the little guys in knee highs or cut up your panty hose and it will keep the melons protected as they grow. FYI- they prefer nude pantyhose
