One notable example was the story of the woman accused of adultery who was about to be stoned until Jesus intervened. Great story, and a well-known one, but it wasn't in the original MS, so it was added by the copyist. There are footnotes throughout the Bible that say such-and-such a paragraph wasn't in the original MS. So, even if you believe the basic story, you have to concede that a lot of the text is the invention of various copyists.Text

Several question. What do you consider the original texts? You do realize that there are no original known texts of any of the letters of the NT. In fact the entire liturgy of the Apostles was Hebrew and Aramaic and is believed by many to have been the language of the original letters.

The oldest is not always the most accurate if you are referencing the Codex Sinaiticus which by the way was recovered in the trash bin of a monastery in Egypt. This codex is not the bible even though it falsely is taught that it is the complete NT. In fact it is now divided into four parts in four nations and not one complete Codex. The texts are riddled with many errors and rewrites and as well as 29 books instead of the 27 books of the NT. Some rewrites are made as far as 800 years after the rewrites and corrections.

Many new bibles since KJV are based upon this Codex Sinaiticus and not the Textus Receptus which are the vast majority (over 90%) of the then known manuscripts. Nevertheless, the fact remains that the term "original" is really not known and may never be known.
