Just what exactly are you folk doing up there? Three green stars spread out all along the big crack in the ground.

Oh Noez, Iceland is going to sink! Weird though. The Reykjanes part may be due to the drilling, but not so long ago there were those 4.5 or so quakes about 400 miles out. It is almost as if it is creeping along the MAR going north.

Hmm, a 3.3 there today. Looking at everything yesterday, I was thinking it might just be metling ice or something, but it is a little busier today it seems.

I don't like the actual "seismic?" activity at Katla since very early this Morning.

3.9 & 3.3 and a lot of smaller ones all at 1.1km depth.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

May well be on her way in a day or two if this carries on. I have never seen the maps like this.

SNB, GOD and HVO showing tremor as well.

Nervous laugh? Welcome to ATS. You will soon find out that I am not prone to scaremongering, in fact I am usually the one debunking the others.

Actually it looks as if the 'spiteful troll' is playing with us again. It has been a bit quieter in the past couple of hours or so.

By the way I download the All Iceland, Myrdalsjokull and Vatnajokull graphs and maps hourly and the tremor maps from the SIL stations around Katla and Grimsvotn every two so if you need to look at past data I probably have it - at least going back just under 2 years. I also download Jon Frimann's helicorder plots every two hours.

Are you local to Iceland? Just wondered from the link to the Icelandic mobile site. The OP of this thread is an Icelander.

I wouldn't mind to have a look at Ritman's graphs for the activity from past night/morning.

I wouldn't laugh when PuterMan posts this kind of stuff. I would actually start to worry a bit.

And if you keep an eye on the met office tremor graphs around Myrdals and see the red line showing the same big bumps as the cyan and green one you know it's about time to buy some popcorn and beer as this would mean the show is about to start.

Well, I'm going to start cam watching a little bit. Its been cloudy there, but not totally overcast and with some good views at times. Nothing to visually report yet

Strange that if you look at GOD in this post there seems to be red behind the blue, but the chart now does not seem to be showing it.

Look at the 5,500 level and it was there but now has gone. Seems odd. Still at least it means there is not as much HT as I had suspected - depending on which version you believe.

Checked it again and you're right. It's possible they made some corrections so the graphs reflect more the real situation. Especially for the 4 active ones around Myrdalsjokull. (esk, hvo, mid and snb)

But when you look at the mid graph you can still see the red line pointing out of the green one.

I don't think there's any HT there as, my opinion of course, it's always just one peek for a 2+ quake. If the red line starts to thicken without any 2+ quakes showing up on the sesismic map it could effectively indicate HT but that's not the case here.

Yes I guess she is not quite ready yet.

BTW the graphs do not show anything much... quakewatch.wordpress.com...

Unfortunately I had an early night last night and was in bed by 2am (1am UTC so the downloads stopped earlier than normal!)

There is some new imagery for Eyja in Google Earth showing the darkening of the snow and ice and the lake in the centre. Image date August 8th, 2010.

Looks as if the Katla page is active again. It had stopped being updated once Eyja stopped but seems to be going again now.

Can anyone confirm that the webcam pointing at Katla is on a repeating loop showing 29/08/2011?

Its been like this since thursday.

Not suggesting any conspiracy. Probably undergoing maintenance or something?
