Why should an artist censor herself just because the parents of little girls decide to let them listen to it?

People act as if television and radio is forced upon them like air and water.

A person can chose not to subscribe, and they can definitely chose not to let their little children listen to pop music.

Exactly. When the conversation starts including Justin Timberlake, or any male for that matter, I'll start paying attention.

Until then, my time researching this screams to me that it is sexism first and foremost.

Yup, along with the stigma of success for females in the music industry who are pushing the envelopped like Lady Gaga is.

Look I'm not saying I condone ALL of her behaviour, but whose business is it to tell her how she can act or portray herself?

Honestly, I think her music and artistic sytle are brilliantly done, regardless of what the "illuminaty" clan think of her.

They can but do they? They try but kids these days are subjected to more than they can be censored from.. Please.. try and have a tad more wide-view here.. this isn't solely about this barbie i could care less about.

I'm quite comfortable with it. If the parents of this country are so non-existant that what a pop-star wears to a baseball game(let's see, an entertainer, at an entertainment event) influences them that heavily, that is the fault of the parents, not the singer.

Furthermore, children have wanted to be the 'it' thing for generations. Again, it comes down to parents.

Set an example? If this is the example that you let your children aspire to, again, that is your fault as a parent.

Get real? Real is understanding that everyone has the right to do as they wish. Real is understanding that it is not up to a pop-star whose soul purpose is to get exposure and sell records to set the example for YOUR child. Real is understanding that being a parent is sometimes about steering your kids away from these things.

Real is certainly not sitting around bellowing your sexism and expecting OTHERS to do what you should as a parent.

Another question: Do you get upset when a male athlete takes off his shirt? Does it bother you that nba dancers wear less than gaga did and hump the floor 4 times a night? Do you consider it disrespectful that the Arizona Diamondbacks have a hot tub in centerfield and EVER SINGLE GAME features people in their bikinis or swimwear?

On another note... Rhianna's "Rude Boy" at Nickelodeons Kid Choice Awards was an excellent song to be performed in front of a crowd that contained 7 and 8 year olds.

Why is the youth aloud to be subjected to that?

Great point! But when those cheerleaders wearing less clothes than Lady Gaga, in this case, come on the field or court, everybody gets up and claps and dances with them. They don't cover their kiddies little eyes and label it raunchy or disrespectful.

LOL well Madonna was just as weird 20 years ago too. Both these women have issues and its sad they wanna work their "issues" out in public and even sadder that they would have the lack of self respect to make money on their "issues".

She's just another hollow vacuous pop star, the only thing to get up in arms about is how such mundane hacks and their shallow music become popular...

I'd be more worried about people like Kesha who act like drunken whores on purpose and have thousands of ten year old girls for fans idolizing such behavior because the lyrics are catchy.

Well, flashers are "comfortable" with their sexuality, but still doesn't make it ok.

There's a big difference between exposing yourself and being comfortable with your sexuality.

Like most normal guys, if the chick was "hot" I wouldn't mind it, but it's not about me and that hot chick.

It's about other people/their kids and the "nasty" people in the world who want to flaunt there undesirables to others that I'm worried about.

It's either all or nothing. You have to take the good with the bad, if you decide "rewrite" the rules concerning public clothing.

So when a grown woman wears her underwear to a baseball stadium, as they say, "Houston we have a problem".

If societies "rules" seem stupid to you, it's because you haven't thought out the consequences of what happens when we think it's cool to rewrite them.

For example, according to you it would be "cool" to see hot chicks in bikinis in non-swim/sun bathing areas such as baseball games. Yeah, ok, but who decides which women are hot? Who decides what's a "woman".

How would you like it if an unattractive (and I mean, gross) woman, man or even a transgendered man-to-woman (who is only really fooling themselves) wore a bikini in front of your son/daughter at the game??? And if that person wasn't so "hot" - fat, nasty, stinky, and your son/daughter has to now look into the ass-crack of that man/woman/whatever wearing a thong?

The rules are designed to prevent that sort of "disagreeable" social behavior from occurring. It has nothing to do with puritan ethics. It's about being a mature adult who actually thinks about the potential consequences.

Come on, that's blatant sexism at it's finest my friend.

They make money with they artistry, not issues. I'm sorry but you try writting platinum albums, designing your own sets and doing concerts 7 days a week, and we'll see if you call it "issues".
