Earthquake felt in Hamilton Ontario

There was just an earthquake north of Ottawa which im sure their are already threads for, I live in Hamilton, Ontario pretty far away and we felt it here too. How normal is it to have earthquakes this size in this area? I haven't ever heard of that many earthquakes in ontario nevermind a 5.0? Is this normal? Or could this be part of the seemingly weird increase in earthquake activity worldwide?
