What's the new object coming into view on SOHO?

Topic started on 12-6-2004 @ 08:08 PM by chrisnolefan

i was just looking at one of the latest images from SOHO and noticed something new.

i know that the object nearer the bottom of the picture, moving left to right, is Venus, but what is the object just above Venus moving right to left?

Highly peculiar.

I'm stumped and just a little bit worried about this one.

Same light intensity as the solar flares... intriguing.

Doesn't look like a solar flare to me though guys.

Venus is the object going from left to right. Mercury is the other one. I just fired up Starry Night Pro and took a view of the inner solar system right now.
