1. Yes and no, it is an increasing phenomena but also simply more recognized know. One theory that I give some credit to is the belief that at one pint in our past we were capable of great feats, supposedly we relied more on brain power than machines, another similar ancient alien theory states that ancient beings from another world, "believed to be gods at the time" supposedly shared their knowledge with us and helped us understand our true capabilities. i.e. the great pyramids, stone henge, etc. If possible, what would be easier? Using man power or creating a machine to move giant stones or simply having a group of people synchronized their brain frequencies and concentrated to "will" the stones into place via psychokinesis. I'd say the second would be easier, perhaps we are no just learning, but more so remembering, perhaps our genetic makeup is remembering things that used to be vital and reactivating dormant cells.

2. That is hard to tell, as for one, due to our ease of access to information such things are more commonly known. There may or may not be an increase, many people may have abilities and may not even know it. Sometimes the only way you find out was by accident. I can say that over time abilities do become stronger.

As a child I was fairly normal, never really experienced anything odd. however as I got older I started to notice things, I could do things that I knew weren't normal simply because I couldn't do them before, along with the quizzical looks i would get if i asked someone. Even today I still remain somewhat skeptical of my own abilities, despite the increase and strength of them. I never really had premonitions growing up, or at least not that I knew of. In my later teen years I started noticing things that I could do that I couldn't do before. As a child I had one fairly insignificant premonition, several years ago I had a second, then a few years ago the gaps between premonitions shortened dramatically, now this past year alone I've probably had at yeast 7 in the past year and a half.

3 years ago I met my best friends girlfriend before actually meeting her, I saw them in a dream the night they met, i knew he was dating her before he told me, i described it to him and he never believed me, he said it was all accurate but was instead convinced that I had texted her or even stalked them, oh well i kept my mouth shut after that. Most recently I met another friends girlfriend back in early April of this year that very day as soon as we met I had this feeling in my gut or in the back of my mind, it was like i just "knew" but i shoved it aside as just a wild guess. I got back in my truck and thought to myself " maybe i should tell him she's going to dump him in three months?" I decided against possibly making a fool of myself and left it at that. June 12th she dumped him, turns out she was cheating on him. Coincidence? Perhaps.

3. Apparently yes, records indicate that the US had a great interest in the matter during the cold war. "remote Viewers" were said to have been deployed to spy on the soviets from US soil. As far as a current interest today is beyond my knowledge. If there still is interest it is most likely kept under wraps.

4. Your not being paranoid. My suggestion for anyone with any ability, would be to do as i do, never openly discuss it in public with anyone unless you know for fact they are like you, and you will know believe me. Id say stick with those you come across, but I wouldn't advise some "National Psychic Order" or something as such would draw too much attention. Keep any personal details that could identify you or exact details of your abilities extremely vague when discussing online. The reason I say this is simply due to the possibility of the powers that be still having interest.
I've heard stories of people between the ages of 18 and 35 being "arrested" by supposed "FBI Agents" on bogus charges and never seen or heard from again, then suddenly all paper trails of their existence are gone. I have a friend who may be unique, its hard for me to tell due the the immense strength of their mental walls, created due to a traumatic childhood. Nonetheless this friend has been harrased immensely by some pretty shady figures. usually guys dressed as FBI agents showing up in an unmarked car asking either bizarre or stupid questions that don't add up. once supposedly they wanted to take this person in for questioning as a murder suspect. apparently a highschool class mate was murdered prior to graduation, yet my friend said the victim was next to them on graduation day in his cap and gown. So be careful.

Yeah, I believe that anything that can not be disproven does exist somewhere is this or another universe, and considering that it is a fact that the mind interacts with environment (electromagnetically, quantum, and more mysterious ways), I think some individuals can certainly maximize this effect.

I want to pose a new question that derives from certain passages in the bible that are extremely anti-magic.

Are there cults/organizations in this world devoted to preventing people from using magic?

I say yes, capital city Rome. Warriors trained to identify individuals with this type of potential and stunt their development.

Magicians in the world would interfere with the Christ agenda, so the Bible forbids it and church factions enforce it.

Not as exciting as astral projection or telekinesis but there have been many instances of humans performing at impossible physical levels when their self-awareness is lowered i.e. while they are sick, in defense or while trying to rescue someone. There is a deep pool of untapped ability in all of us that is inaccessible, for good reason, until we are forced there via a selfless act or while we are not fully aware of ourselves. Somebody who has a max dead lift of 325 lbs on their best day at the gym could go well above that if a loved one was stuck under something they had to lift. To me, that is much more amazing than stories of people shooting lightning from their fingers. These feats have been documented. It’s hidden ability we ALL have that can only be used in the direst of circumstances. Sends chills down my body just thinking about it… or was that my blizzaga spell!? ; )

My partner and I compliment each other's "super powers"...he's not great with sharing emotions and I'm very empathetic. I'm bad with sharing thoughts or things that I worry about and he seems to be a mind reader at times. Actually pisses me off. He always says things to me while we're texting or on the phone, "stop rolling your eyes at me"... he's right 99% of the time.

I'm extremely late to this game, but I wanted to reply to the original post that started this monster thread.

1) Do you think this a relatively new phenomenon, or have there been throughout history reports of people having extraordinary abilities like the ones I described?

Most people say that the human race is young, but humans are a very old species. The earliest finding of a modern human skull was in Vietnam which demonstrated that humans had long left Africa and colonized other places at least 63,000 years ago. Evolution didn't just stop that whole time, but I have to simply say I don't know. There are reports of supernatural things in the past, but I can't verify if those things are real.

2) If this is not a new phenomenon, would you say that there seems to be a sharp increase in the amount of people who can do this in the modern era, or even in the last 25 years?

Besides Remote Viewing, I don't know. Remote Viewing has had a sharp increase because of the declassification of the CIA training manual. As for other "abilities," I can only guess simply because of the free flow of information on the internet.

3) Does the Powers That Be take this seriously at all? I know that in Russia & China there have been extensive studies & training of these people. Why not in the West? Or is it going on and we don't know it?

If by "Powers that Be" you mean the government then yes and no. The US government doesn't really take it too seriously except for a few officials. Russia takes it seriously tongue in cheek simply because they spent a lot of resources into it and don't want to really be wrong. From what I know China has begun a Remote Viewing program.

4) Should people with these abilities stick together & form online/realtime support groups/communities, or is it better to remain scattered & not attract attention? Or should people with these abilities be "outing" themselves on public boards at all? Or am I being paranoid? Or am I not being paranoid?

I guess I should start with myself first. I am a Remote Viewer. If you take Farsight Institute's terms, then I would be a Military Grade Remote Viewer. I was taught by with Dame's protocols and Smith's protocols as well. In our community there are groups already. Smaller groups like the Hawaiian Remote Viewing Group, and larger groups like the Farsight Institute and MIA or the group I'm a member of Esper.

For the most part Farsight Institute is ignored by the government. MIA is more in the government's sight because MIA is ran by Major Dames himself. Esper has a completely non-interventionist position so I don't imagine we're on anyone's watch list. MIA does a whole variety of projects, from disaster watch to lost children finding. Farsight Institute started SRV, Scientific Remote Viewing, and tends to focus on reverse engineering technology or space exploration. Esper is a sort of transhumanist group, but we still have some targets we look at. For the most part, both MIA and Esper both are pretty much in a lock down state. We've both identified a coming problem so we're pretty much heading to what we call Sanctuaries. It's pretty pointless to worry about "outing" ourselves at this stage. It's nothing 2012 related, but it's bad enough that we're making sure our "ducks are in a row."

I don't deal a lot with Farsight Institute, so I'm not sure what they're focusing on lately. As for Esper, we deal a lot with improving the human condition as best we can. We use both Myofribillar Hypertrophy and Sarcoplasmic Hypertrophy to maximize our personal strength. We use mental devices developed by Russian scientists to maximize our memory capacity. I've personally contributed a meditation technique from the Shaolin School to stop the gasp reflex and allow ourselves to relax in new ways. We also study Hypnosis and NLP to affect changes in ourselves.

Something I wanted to address was if people were really "psychic" why don't they help by telling people about coming terrorist attacks, or win the lottery? When 9/11 happened none of the major groups were looking for a terrorist, also the Matrix had no definitive definition for Terrorist. After 9/11, terrorist was added to the Matrix and could definitively be searched for. Esper has no interest in government politics and only rarely runs "Open Searches." MIA has the most interest in government affairs and keeps a close watch over terrorist activities from what I understand. I have no idea what Farsight Institute is up to other than exploring different time lines and such.

Esper tends to be the most paranoid of the groups simply because we know about the abuses that can happen, so we tend to be tight lipped on "Open Search" results. Anything else we're pretty candid on, just lazy it seems. With this whole Sanctuary migration thing, just seems we're getting lazy and bored. Not really sure.

I met a man in Florida who was Puerto Rican and he was quite interesting in that he could do something speacial.

We were hanging with this guy one night and we all got onto this thing were he said he could guess any beer we could put into our minds with good accuracy.

Well naturally we were all skeptic and like # it lets put this to the test.

Well # me this guy would not only tell you the name of the beer you had in YOUR MIND.

I would pick the most obscure name I could think of and he would nail it.

This guy worked as a all purpose handy man at a restaraunt called the Artisan in DeLand FL and he was a stoner/ciggarette smoker/drinker and I thought very little of his overall character but he had some honor about him as many a poor man does.

Yet I cant help but notice while we are playing this game that out of four of us his accuracy for guessing obscure beers that we are thinking of in our heads is literally 90 plus or better and it blows all of use away as we continue to do this for over 30 minutes till we run out of beers.

That is another animal in my eye cause I have been clairvoyant through dreams mostly and nothing else really so he absolutely made me realize that there are different types of abilities out there.

They all know ( or are learning0 magic, psionics, that sort of stuff! I have actually met people there that have agreed to help me learn some of this stuff! Like I said, nothing is impossible, especially if you find Veritas!

Talk to some of the people there. Maybe you can find an area of study you like! All the people are experts there, and will help you learn something you want!

It's not new, it's been going on for quite a while, when I was a little kid I had a number of special skills, I just choose to ignore them after a couple of bad experiences, nowadays, I can hardly remember any dreams anymore, I feel safer this way.

The info does get released. Whether it will gain any widespread awareness or follow-up is another thing.

For example, despite Dames' release of "The Killshot" documentary years ago, it was never once mentioned during this year's doomsday coverage even though the last two sequences prior to the Killshot now appear to be coming true: North Korea is about to do a nuclear test, and the Air Force's mini-shuttle X-37B is now in orbit and might be the 'shuttle-like' craft which Dames predicted will be forced down from orbit. Potentially the most accurate doomsday prediction (based on a scientific remote sensing method) yet absent from current chatter. Similar to a stunningly complex new crop circle being formed, but only being reported on via a few websites.

Very true. Most people laugh off psychic predictions as delusions of an insane imagination.
