This video made me laugh - Expert goes off her rocker telling BP they need to learn the basics of booming!!!! Gets good from 2 minutes on. WATCH THIS YOU WONT REGRET IT.

It also is an awesome example of how experts can see BP are not even trying!!

edit: to fix embedding and add warning
I believe this video orignally came from a youtube user called EconomicCrisisReview as this is only a link I originally found to a mirror - so credit there if it's due or to ever created this piece of art.

Most Excellent!!

Thank You!!

I must say, after watching the video, I have to agree with both the case made and the tone taken.

Really refreshing to hear some-one properly venting spleen.

I have to agree on every point she made.
They are all just [snip]!

Best video I've seen about the spill. Spread the word send this out to the masses to show how much the recovery is just a failure.

I,m just bumping this thread again so the late crew can check it out.
I have watched it three times now, laugh? or cry?.

Both. That's what makes it so effective.

From this video, I've learned that bad words, much like Obama's speeches, seem to go nowhere. Action speaks louder than words, you know.

I can't laugh at it, but thanks. Heard about it before, just decided to listen, glad I did. Now what do we do?

posted on Jun, 19 2010 @ 07:40 PM
Whoa!! I am not a big fan of bad words, but she does get the point across. And she at least knows what she is talking about. I did not realize myself about how the booming should work, and after watching this we all look like fools. Actually thinking that those barriers might be doing even a small bit of good. BP has just put out some small pathetic wasted effort to look good for any reporters etc. I guess now they can say "we tried??" whatever....

She made some good points, but now my ears hurt for some reason (and I'm an ex-sailor)

Maybe it was all of the [snip] and [snip] and [snip]

Maybe she should teach the next boom class

Nothing, ATS policy is we can't do anything... otherwise that would be recruiting for a cause.... and I can't go and set up a seperate site with forum's to recruit and talk to anyone here about it because that would be advertising.

Don't get me wrong - I LOVE ATS, and the freedom of speech it provides. But do not understand what the point is if we can only identify problems and not solve them.

On behalf of ALL of the PEOPLE and yes there are still a few left who haven't gone insane when just trying to TEACH others, I applaude u for your honesty, courage and heartfelt loss A belief that those in charge maybe as#hle's but they must be there for some good reason,,no longer applies in situations like this, I am sure u will agree.
I for one would like to see YOU before congres tomorrow!!!! So any rich, congress aides wathching ??? This thread???.
And while your at it, round up those Enginer's who said 4 hrs before it blew "It's going to blow" Which was ingnored, overidden, countermanded, ran rough shod over,, I.m sure u see a pattern here,,.
Anyway don't know what else to say.
I personally think title should say "Expert bares her heart and soul,, etc.

that video instills some never before known emotions in me...

part of me wants to break my hand punching someone in the face and then get that hand casted up and then use the same casted hand to ...

perform some BOOMING techniques of my own on some know it all overpaid law bending dollar loving .... those poor Brown Starfishes from the Gulf Of British Petroleum...

yep, a properly placed casted arm...
one can dream...

and then afterwards, a third blow to their overpaid overstretched man pouch they call their lie holes...

yep, i'd hit them white boys so hard they will wake up one day answering to a black president...

one can dream,

Whomever that anonymous anouncer was ...
i'd love to take her home to meet my mommy!
she sounds like a keeper!

Weeeeeeeel..... theres PLENTY they could be doing extra.

The booming geometry, notwithstanding its efficiency at collecting surface oil, and the buoyancy of Raw Crude... there are other problems with the Oil Spill than just the oil coating everything.

These Deep oil wells are best explained as a function of Volcanology... the only other science that studies plastic (Viscous Liquid) flows through different levels of geological strata.

These Deep oil wells are in fact the remnants of magma chambers underneath the earth.

When the magma begins to flow in strata that contains high concentrations of Carbon, and Hydrogen (Seams of life...) the Magma heats the "Soil" to liquid state.

Since the Silicon in the rocks is heavier, it sinks into the magma, while the carbon and hydrogen pool towards the top (because of gravity) and under immense pressure and temperature, the hydrogen begins joining with the carbon in long chains...

Hydrocarbon Chains.

Carbon will not sink into Silicon Rock, unless it is in a Heavy structure... Like Cells, or Plant Fibers, or the Like.

This occurs in a process known as tectonic burial & metamorphism

High-grade metamorphism takes place at temperatures greater than 320oC and relatively high pressure. As grade of metamorphism increases, hydrous minerals become less hydrous, by losing H2O and non-hydrous minerals become more common.

If the Magma pocket is cut off from the mantle, the pocket of oil cools, and the pressure lowers.

The Deeper the well, the more likely that it is LIVE.

The Carbon is more than likely caused by the accumulation of the "Shells" of Dead Organisms accumulating over geological time frames.

Such as Algae... which is made of Hydrocarbon Chains, wrapped around hydrocarbon Chains, suspended inside of Hydrocarbon Chains.

So.... Yeah.

Layer after layer of Carbon Rich Algae, and Silicon Rich Diatoms, accumulate on the floor of whatever body of water.

Over time, the pressure and temperature liquefies the layers, and thus, separates them by weight inside the "Chamber"

This is the exact same principle that a Crude Refinery works on.... except on a MUCH larger scale.

Then you get other chemicals in the mix... Like Chlorine, which is a component of Salt... that also decays into something slightly more dangerous than Sea Salt:

Like Hydrogen Chloride, for example.

Or perhaps Sulfur, That is used in Cysteine, an integral part of proteins.

All of these volatile chemicals are diffused in the soil beneath us, from things that have died.

The "Liquid Hot Magma" pressure cooks the Rocks and the Light Carbon, Hydrogen, Free-Oxygen, etc, floats up... since it is less dense than the Silicon-Oxide "Glass" pool. (Silica, Quartz, Igneous, etc)

This is why Volcanoes release great plumes of Gas... it is Carbon Dioxide, and other gases that floated to the top of the magma.

Oil is The Dead.

Back from [snip]

Ain't that freaky?

Anyways, back to the [snip] Booms.

So, pressure at great depth is a function of the Average Density of the surface layers, and the Height of the layers.

Since Oil is a liquid, it will transfer the downward force of the Rock layers, out to any path that it can fill.

This means that this well is spraying at upwards of 20,000 psi.

The ocean at the depth of the wellhead is about 1 mile (5,280ft) which causes around 2289psi at the bottom.

So, 20,000 psi - 2289psi = 17,711psi

That is still a lot of pressure.

I know that Industrial steam boilers are rated for Thousands of Psi...

But tens of thousands?

44.68 tons per square inch is the tensile strength of crucible forged steel.

And structural yield occurs at around 60%-80% of this strength.

The area measured for tensile strength in a cylindrical object is radial through the wall, and along the axis.

So, a 1 inch section of .5 inch case (OD->ID) pipe would be only half as strong as its Tensile rating would indicate.

I'm pretty sure that we have some footage of one of the Rovers finding Oil plumes some miles from the Wellhead...

And THAT means that the well ITSELF is compromised somewhere between the Oil chamber, and the seabed.

I have heard of reports of leaks out past 30 miles.

And given the Pressure of the oil, Against the PRESSURE of a small layering of soil on top of it....

Yeah.... it looks like it's finding a way up Wherever it can.

I shall now point your attention to this interesting tid-bit of discussion:

Earthquakes are caused when there is a massive shift in the geological strata underlying an area of the planets surface.

Such as when the supporting structure of a large cavern, DEEP underground, *HAS BEEN REMOVED*

Man Made Earthquake?
