The only news i have seen on ATSNN is abut terror, and demands by other nations. Nothing happy, and technological... I would like to ask that that kind of news wont be ignored please. It evntually gets boring to only hear about terror... Can't we report something else too?

If you look at the left-most column of ATSNN.com, you will see a navigation bar with links to numerous different subject areas on ATSNN.

These include business, science, sport, entertainment and politics among the norm.

i know byt a lot of it does get ignored

the whole board is obssed with war on terror or aliens and stuff...there is much more out there than the above.

I know u have to go with whats relevent...but how about cuttin back on terror and just make the relevent stuff count?

Yes i know but the only thing you see hwne you look at the ATSNN thing on the homepage is news about terror!! Im tired of it!
I think we shouldnt give points to members who post on ATSNN because they cant find any other news exept the reports on Terror! So they post news on terror because they want more points for them selves. The more they post the more points they get.
Also a thing about the bord. We should encourage people to post in the mysterious objects. They are the smallest forums there!

Don't like the news being reported on ATSNN?

Read the submission guidelines and SUBMIT YOUR OWN STORIES then.
It ain't hard.

I think this thread is a perfect example of some one deciding they know something when they don't. Here is the list of the front page of the most recently active articles on ATSNN/TerrorAnalysis. Not counting submissions, there are 11 war or terror related stories out of 32 total articles. (And by the way, I erred conservative, counting some articles as war/terror related when they could be argued not to be.)

That is not a majority, a plurality or anything other than....

1/3.

The first six news stories on ATSNN at the moment are as follows:

G8 summit regarding nuclear programs
UN resolution regarding Iraqi government
Aldridge Report - Space travel
Assassination
Meteorite hits house
Gas/Petrol prices

They aren't all terror-related....

Edit - Val beat me to it!

I'm curious, what type of "happy' news are we not reporting?????

I just checked every source I have ever referenced for news and there isn't a single "happy" news story

should we be making stuff up just to make you feel good?

sorry to say the majority of what is going in the world right now, just isn't good or happy news.

and like val said, if we missed a story that you feel needs coverage, then submit it yourself.

yeah well for dumb people like me Submissions dont exactly come as the easiest thing on the planet!

that thing is way to damn difficult to do...cant u make a layout so we just add our bits in?

And Val.,..yes we know...but MOST of it is related to terror.

No, I think we completely understood what you were saying. And with all deference to worldwatcher...she thinks I said that, but I didn't. That's all her perfect suggestion.

If you want the mix of news on ATSNN to be different than it is right now, follow worldwatcher's advice and submit your articles. If you don't feel the conviction to do that, either pipe down or stop reading the news.

There's a limited number of options available here.

Gryff,

We just added a new reporter to add to the sci/tech section. But, also, if you find news that you would like to have reported here you can always email or u2u one of us. I don't have any problem writing an article based on a request.

My point is, there are limited options to causing the change you are requesting. And we've pretty much ran through them right here. What I don't think anybody should expect is to see this change just because they ask me or any other ATSNN staff member to just "change". That's not a fair request, nor will it lead to an increase in quality.

Well I guess it's already been said, either submit your own stories or just don't read it if you're getting sick of terrorism. It ain't rocket science.

I think there would be a chnage if points wouldnt be given. Lets see hw ATSNN would survive with out giving points to members submitting articles... Im curious. Maybe it will do better.

well John Nada

everytime u come onto the main board we have big huge white blobs on the screen screaming ATSNN at us.

its a good thing but its gettin too crowded with Terror and stuff.

and typical for u to say that too

I'm starting to understand now what the real problem is. And that unique problem to you can be solved this way AND ONLY THIS WAY...

START MAKING QUALITY SUBMISSIONS

if you are incapable of it, and I have to be real honest, that I believe that may be that singular issue that's bugging you, then sit back, drop out, and shut up. But don't rain on the other ATS members' parades because you're pissed off that there are members who can write a submission that will be upgraded, but you can't.

I don't get the correlation between the content of the news forum and your obsession on the points.

I tired it ONCE! Then i never submitted another article again... So youre getting the wrong idea here....
