How about giving the UN inspectors military backing. So if they get refused entry into a certain area then appropriate action could be taken. Im sure some kind of resolution could be passed based on this theory. Im also sure this would please the US and the UK as well as The French and Russians. Then we would see how willingly Saddam is to disarm.

One problem with this idea: for "military backing" to the inspectors to have any real influence, you would have to allow a rather significant military force into Iraq... Iraq, who is currently bunkering down in anticipation of a major fight, is very UNLIKELY to allow a foreign military presence of any size on its soil voluntarily, and would likely see such as nothing more than prepositioning of forces for a preemptive strike in the near future.

also, the problem this go-round isn't access to sites...the inspectors report that they haven't been restricted. the major beef is the declaration and interviews of the 3,000 or so scientist that worked on the WMD programs, i think.

Who's military do you suppose using, anyway?

The next commander in chief that would have a U.S. troop don a blue beret should be hung for treason. The last one should be hung as well.

Here's a way to stop the war....

Saddam could actually COMPLY with the terms of surrender he agreed to 12 years ago...

You have to stop to dream. Bush & Blair will never go back. They cannot go back. So, there will be a war.And with or without any UN permission !

Now, we have to look on North-Korea because the problem is not " war with Irak or not " anymore.

The problem is : " The war with Irak is comming, it's a fact. But what will they ( the North-Koreans ) do ? "
