I'm not saying it wasn't cruel, I'm saying it may have been ordered.

Point is, if this was ordered, the cops have a choice, obey or not.

You inspired yet another little fantasy I need to play out in my head. Speaking of empathy, let's put ourselves in the shoes of men ordered to do this, shall we.

Cop1: We have the dog. He is calm and restrained.
Whoeverisonthephone: OK, good. Shoot it in the head in the front yard.
Cop1: We have it restrained, we could at least take it in back or somewhere out of view if we have to shoot it on the spot.
WIOTP: Nope, gotta shoot it in the head right there in the front yard.
Cop1: There are homes all around, people might be watching. It might not look good and it would take no effort to take it to be put down, or even somewhere secluded to shoot it.
WIOTP: Nope! Gotta shoot it right there in the front yard.

Is this close to the scenario you are suggesting justifies what we see on this video? If not, what do you imagine differently.

I usually just read here, but this video infuriated me so much I HAD to comment!! These SOB's need to be punished. It brought me to tears when he shot the dog and it was STILL wagging it's tail being SUBMISSIVE! This dog was NO threat whatsoever.....why were they just standing around staring at the dog for so long? Does anyone know? Did the dog bite someone? Since there was no sound, I'm not sure what was going on......BTW.....nice to meet you all!

Your are absolutely right. The dog was lying on the ground tied to the rear of the vehicle.

Now in what shape form or manner did the dog do anything aggressive?

Sad to say the least.

Did you notice how the cop kept looking over at that house to see if anyone was watching? He knew it was wrong.

I believe he was wondering if anyone was watching how pathetic he was acting.

Seriously, those two were scared of their own shadows!
