Why does Trash Binned/404 threads disappear from a member's thread history?

I've seen 2 threads in the past week Trash Binned(moved to Trash Bin, generating a 404 error status) and afterwards disappear from the "threads" link in a given OP's public member profile.

One such example:

Member TheOracle.

He/She created a thread titled "WikiLeaks is asking for urgent help" in "Breaking Alternative News" area yesterday.

Look at TheOracle's thread history. No longer there.

The Google Cache it still up.

A question for ATS staff: why do this? Hide that a member ever authored something?
