I stumbled upon this music video and was blown away.

Lyrics here: www.lyrics007.com...

The truth is slowly leaking out. More and more people are waking up. The powers that be can not do anything about it. They have no choice but to give up to their corrupt ways and give in to the power of love. Heaven on Earth, here we come!

Every day I believe this a little more. Cheers and love, S and F!

Perhaps the best Fergie has ever looked. That was the first time I listened to the whole song because in the past I would just turn it whenever it came on. Glad I listened to it though has a good message, thanks

beautiful!

so refreshing to read a positive, optimistic post here at ATS these days!

kisses and hugs to you!!

i'm not sure how you are perceiving this phenomenon but i'm seeing it as not that we are waking up and then leaking out the truth but rather that we are waking up to the truth that has been encoded in everything that we call 'art'!

especially music, at least for me.
and i think the messages for our future, one of hope and love and peace, began to infiltrate popular music in the 60's.

i don't think rock and roll will ever fade away - look at some of these guys like Mick Jagger - he's old enough to collect Social Security if he wanted to!
and they are all still rocking on!

i think it is because there is an eternal message in the music - and so the music is living on and on.

Yes music does sooth the soul and there is much truth in it.It has definitely saved me from sinking into despair at times in my life.

Music is so universal as well and can spread a message as fast as the internet I think. To bad for the hippies they were so drugged out, maybe people would have taken them a little more seriously with their message... Can't point fingers though because I was one of them!

I am not going to embed these two videos, but if you want to see a couple really great ones that will make you think and feel good all at the same time, you can click the links below.

Good post OP. Nice to have something besides the doom and gloom.

AMAZING by One Eskimo

RETURN TO INNOCENCE by Enigma

First one is rather new and second one is a long time favorite of mine

Enjoy

You know this song is at least two years old?

Musicians have always leaked the truth:

John Lennon, Working Class Hero

www.youtube.com...

lyrics:

As soon as your born they make you feel small,
By giving you no time instead of it all,
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
They hurt you at home and they hit you at school,
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool,
Till you're so #ing crazy you can't follow their rules,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years,
Then they expect you to pick a career,
When you can't really function you're so full of fear,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV,
And you think you're so clever and classless and free,
But you're still #ing peasents as far as I can see,
A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.
There's room at the top they are telling you still,
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill,
If you want to be like the folks on the hill,
A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.
If you want to be a hero well just follow me,
If you want to be a hero well just follow me.

I think nowadays it's more an exception in the music business, in the 60's musicians were way more critical.

I think more people have become aware of what has always been there, in contemporary history atleast.

It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine

That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds,
snakes, an aeroplanes, Lenny Bruce is not afraid.
Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn - world
serves its own needs, dummy serve your own needs. Feed
it off an aux speak, grunt, no, strength, Ladder
start to clatter with fear fight down height. Wire
in a fire, representing seven games,a government for
hire
and a combat site. Left of west and coming in
a hurry with the furies breathing down your neck. Team
by team reporters baffled, trumped, tethered cropped.
Look at that low playing! Fine, then. Uh oh,
overflow, population, common food, but it'll do. Save
yourself, serve yourself. World serves its own needs,
listen to your heart bleed dummy with the rapture and
the revered and the right, right. You vitriolic,
patriotic, slam, fight, bright light, feeling pretty
psyched.

[Chorus:]

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine.>br>

Six o'clock - TV hour. Don't get caught in foreign
towers. Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself
churn. Locking in, uniforming, book burning, blood
letting. Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate.
Light a votive, light a candle. Step down, step down.
Watch your heel crush, crushed, uh-oh, this means no
fear cavalier. Renegade steer clear! A tournament,
tournament, a tournament of lies. Offer me solutions,
offer me alternatives and I decline.

[Chorus 2x]

The other night I dreamt of knives, continental
drift divide. Mountains sit in a line, Leonard
Bernstein. Leonid Brezhnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester
Bangs. Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom! You
symbiotic, patriotic, slam book neck, right? Right.

[Chorus 2x]

S&F because that is just one of the songs that reaches out and grabs my heart when I hear it!

Thanks for the ray of sunshine in an oil soaked month!

Edit for JohnPheonix:

What's wrong with the world mama?
People living like aint got no mamas
I think the whole worlds addicted to the drama
Only attracted to the things that bring you trauma
Overseas yeah we tryin to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here livin
In the USA the big CIA the Bloodz and the Crips and the KKK
But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And if you hatin you're bound to get irate
Yeah madness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates
You gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love y'all

People killing people dying
Children hurtin you hear them crying
Can you practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek?
Father Father Father help us
Send some guidance from above
Cause people got me got me questioning
Where is the love?(where is the lovex3)(the love2x)

It just ain't the same all ways have changed
New days are strange is the world the insane?
If love and peace so strong
Why are there pieces of love that don't belong
Nations dropping bombs
Chemical gases filling lungs of little ones
With ongoing suffering
As the youth die young
So ask yourself is the loving really strong?
So I can ask myself really what is going wrong
With this world that we living in
People keep on giving in
Makin wrong decisions
Only visions of them livin and
Not respecting each other
Deny thy brother
The wars' going on but the reasons' undercover
The truth is kept secret
Swept under the rug
If you never know truth
Then you never know love
Where's the love y'all?(I don't know)
Where's the truth y'all?(I don't know)
Where's the love y'all?

People killing people dying
Children hurtin you hear them crying
Can practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek?
Father father father help us
Send some guidance from above
Cause people got me got me questioning
Where is the love?(where is the lovex3)(the lovex2)

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder
As I'm getting older y'all people get colder
Most of us only care about money makin
Selfishness got us followin the wrong direction
Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting their young minds faster than bacteria
Kids wanna act like what the see in the cinema
Whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality
Instead of spreading love, we're spreading anomosity
Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling down
It's no wonder why sometimes I'm feeling under
I gotta keep my faith alive, until love is found

People killing people dying
Children hurtin you hear them crying
Can you practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek?
Father Father Father help us
Send some guidance from above
Cause people got me got me questioning
Where is the love?(fade)

I agree but we must protect the net! the last bastion of freedom.

Here in Australia a giant fitler is proposed.

Thank you for posting the lyrics. Reminds me of Bob Dylan in the 60's and 70's.

that's an excellent song to post on this thread!

although i didn't realize there was a remake of it...you're making me feel old!

i know it as REM's song - here is a neat video of the same song, by the original band - someone did a good job synching the pix with the words!

"don't get caught in foreign towers" to me is a very prophetic line!!

a hopeful, slightly biblical song by one of my favorite bands, in a beautiful video!

You and Me
Moody Blues

There's a leafless tree in Asia
Under the sun there's a homeless man
There's a forest fire in the valley
Where the story all began

What will be our last thought?
Do you think it's coming soon?
Will it be a comfort
Or the pain of a burning wound?

All we are trying to say
Is we are all we've got
You and me just cannot fail
If we never, never stop

You're an ocean full of faces
And you know that we believe
We're just a wave that drifts around you
Singing all our hopes and dreams
We look around in wonder
At the work that has been done
By the visions of our father
Touched by his loving son

All we are trying to say
Is we are all we've got
You and me just cannot fail
If we never, never stop
All we are trying to say
Is we are all we've got
You and me just cannot fail
If we never, never stop
You and me just cannot fail
If we never, ever, never, ever stop...

a sobering but very true song by Whitey Ford, aka Everlast:
