Is all this exposure to the oil spill news designed to wear you out and make you care less about it?

I find myself even being annoyed with oil spill news and threads now.
That doesn't mean i do not care, it just wears me out.

I seriously wonder if it's ment to do that. Some big global happenings get a five minute mention never to be heared of again.

Is this on purpose to make you care less?
Is this designed to keep you fearing and worrying so you stay docile?
Is it to provoke massive riots so the people give them a reason to declare martial law?

What do you think my fellow ATS members?

I'm not sure it's designed to make us care less, i think that's just the way our brains work after repeated exposure to most things.

De-sensitisation can be a good thing sometimes, but in this case maybe that theory doesn't work.

Maybe people aren't that bothered unless it's directly affecting them and their surrounding area?

I agree, the oil spill is getting on my nerves too.

But at least we're not the people who can say, it's not my coast, why should I give a damn...

I think like tothetenthpower concluded in SpartanKingsLeonidas thread that it's eco-terrorism is the right definition.

I hope we can find out what is really going on, because I think the end isn't in sight for many months.
