All the entries were spectacular, all were thoroughly enjoyable to read

I was about to give up waiting for the results as it seemed they would never be done judging it. Congratulations to everyone who entered a story and way to go ladyinwaiting! I was glad to see you took first place. I believe your story deserved it for sure. Well done everyone!

Me neither... In fact, I've given up waiting for a certain portion of the judging panel to get back to me with their choices.

Instead, I went with the 'portion' that DID get back to me. One thing for sure, it was much easier than if all the judges had come back with different picks. Usually, that's where I come in to try to reach some sort of consensus (but it certainly wasn't required in this case).

So when is the next contest?

Likely for hallowe'en. I'll start the contest in late August, to be ended by (and the winners picked for) October 31.

I propose a 2-month contest and 1000 words as a minimum (no maximum).

One thing for sure... I already have 1 judge who has volunteered for the next contest and am looking for at least 4 others, preferably those who have writer status, but if any do not come through with their choices in a reasonable amount of time, then we might have to re-think writing contests altogether.

ALL the stories were excellent, btw, and I enjoyed reading them. I wish all participants could be 1st Place Winners, but, then again, it wouldn't be much of a contest, would it?

Well done to the winners, and a much deserved pat on the back!!

Also a very sincere thank you to masqua and the other judges for taking the time and effort to organise and judge the entries., it must have been extremely time consuming.

I am so thrilled to have won second place I can't even tell you. I would have been honored for an honorable mention considering the incredible stories that were put forth by our members. I am THRILLED to have been listed along with Ladyinwaiting and Lady Skadi. THRILLED!
