If he lives through prison in Peru, I highly doubt US prison would be all that bad.

I hope he gets sent to that Lurigancho or whatever, but it seems like they won't send ya there unless you're a native of peru. However the father of the girl he killed seems to have connections so he could probably pay van der sloot's way into that place.

He is lucky he is such a celebrity now, that is the only thing that will save his life.

Peru doesn't want the world to know when he dies in their prison system; they will watch over him.

If he was a nobody, they wouldn't care.

I don't think "Peru" cares what happens inside those two prisons - M.C.C. is just a smaller version of Lurigancho and they're run by the inmates (at least, the second is). But, his worth may be decided based on how much money he can have smuggled in, to pay the big daddies, of course. We shall see...
