Because it doesn't work that way, laws that were enacted before him can be change, modify and amended but, will not be enforced on existing problems but problems that will happen in the future, either way, BP will come out on the top and we the tax payer will be the losers.

Their contracts can be nullify but then again they walk unscathed.

I wonder what will be worse BP handling claims or the US government?

Who would you want to handle the claims?

AIG the insurance group needs a shot-in-the-arm,
or some other big insurance giant, they have the infrastructure available, for claims
for claims adjusters
for ability in keeping track of individual claims, etc
making payments from a BP Escrow account

Here we go with contradictions already.

BP has agreed to 20 billion dollars for all the victims, isn't that nice of them.

20 Billion is nothing compared to all the tourism, seafood, etc in the area. 200 billion now that would be start.

So who the hell is actually calling the shots?

news.yahoo.com...

WASHINGTON – BP will set aside $20 billion to pay the victims of the massive oil spill in the Gulf, senior administration officials said Wednesday, a move made under pressure by the White House as the company copes with causing the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history.

Well it seems that the gulf oil is more than we are been lie to believe, if BP is going to the length to save its holdings on the oil gulf drilling, it means that America oil reserves never were in any kind of trouble when the oil crisis in the 70s that made US going from number one in oil and allow other nations claim that place.

We have been lie more than we can imagine when it comes to US oil richness.

Because we the people have not rights to it, is all private.
