Its a shame because I LOVE debating with people who disgree with me if they know how. At the very least you learn the enemies position at best you learn something new and change your opinion. Unfortuntly both society and politics has devolved into soundbites and mudslinging. Now-a-days neither washington or lincoln could get elected, they belived in discussing issues.

You: Does being republican make you stupid?

Me: No. But being a liberal does. My statement is as valid as yours here.

You: Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you’re a conservative radio host. Then it’s an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.

Me: Theres a difference between being a drug addict and someone who became addicted to medication that was legally perscribed. I wouldnt except a liberal to understand such things though.

You: The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq.

Me: Because some conservatives (and whoever else) thinks we should get out, doesnt mean that we ARE OUT. See the difference?

You: Government should relax regulation of Big Business and Big Money but crack down on individuals who use marijuana to relieve the pain of illness.

Me: I disagree with some points of view regarding Big Business that most conservatives hold but regardless, this is not a logical comparison. You cant make a logical parallel between treatment of Big Business (tax breaks etc) and putting illegal drug users in jail. And it is illegal.

You: “Standing Tall for America” means firing your workers and moving their jobs to India.

Me: you really and truly think that only the conservatives and/or republicans are the ones moving jobs to India? If so, youre deluded.

You: A woman can’t be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation.

Me: The decision isnt up to the woman. Its up to God and He told us not to murder, and last time I checked, that was against the law for both men and women kthx.

You: Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.

Me: Lol. Ok you got me there. There is a little too much should I put it...agressiveness by Christians/conservatives regarding homosexuality but the facts are that the Christians (or I should say "we") believe its a much more serious issue. Its contrary to our religion and our beliefs and its seen as sort of an ESCALATION of forcing homosexuality down our throats. Christians have "drawn the line in the sand" so to speak about this lately. But for the heck of it, Ill give this one to you.

You: The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches while slashing veterans’ benefits and combat pay.

Me: I disagree with veteran benefit and combat pay cuts. You win this one too. By my count Im winning 7 to 2.

You: Group sex and drug use are degenerate sins unless you someday run for governor of California as a Republican.

Me: Theyre still degenerate sins. I dont think The Schwartz ever said they werent. In fact he openly said he had done drugs in the 70's. Uh-oh! Your winning streak is over!!

You: If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won’t have sex.

Me: I dont think thats any conservatives logic. But if you give needles to an intravenous drug user, chances are, hes going to BLOODY USE IT. The same thing that sex-starved adolecents are going to do. Logic wins again.

You: A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then demand their cooperation and money.

Me: You win this one too, although "demanding" their cooperation is debatable. Thats 9 to 3.

You: HMOs and insurance companies have the interest of the public at heart.

Me: This one is yours. There is no doubt that its all about the $. 9 to 4, Youre catching up!

You: Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy. Providing health care to all Americans is socialism.

Me: I dont have enough information to talk about this one. I dont know anything about health care to Iraqis. On the healthcare to USA is socialism side, I happen to agree with government provided healthcare but I think its impossible in a country this size without DRAMATIC economic restructure (catastrophe). Sure it works great in dinky countries like Canada with a population the size of one of our states, or in similarly sized Australia etc, but in a country of 300 million...I just think its not possible. Score for this one...draw because I dont have enough info so I cant say youre right or wrong (you may be right I dont know).

You: Global warming and tobacco’s link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools.

Me: Global warming is real science and conservatives who say otherwise are wrong (atleast in my opinion). I dont hear any republicans saying tabacco isnt linked to cancer. In fact I hear conservatives telling people its not their right to smoke in an enclosed space and force me to breath their smoky air. There is no "missing link". This would be the connection youre looking for between humans as we are now, and the cavemen that are in your evolution. Thats because there ISNT ONE. Man as you see them today, were created flat out. Cavemen may have walked the earth, but they we not and are not Man. I win this one because Im going to Heaven and youre not Tra laa laaaaa.... 10/4 Me.

You: Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush’s daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him and a bad guy when Bush needed a “we can’t find Bin Laden” diversion.

Me: Nobody ever said Saddam was a good guy and in the middle east its the lesser of 2 evils A L W A Y S (except Israel). Theyre GODS PEOPLE. I bet that really pisses you off doesnt it. 11 to 4 Im pulling away!

You: A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense. A president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.

Me: No. Obstruction of justice is an impeachable offence. It remains to be seen if Bush "lied" but just FYI there is mountains of circumstantial evidence that the WMD were moved to Siria. The Serin gas artillery shell is proof they exist but in what ammount. You lost again. Are you getting used to it yet? 12 to 4

You: Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet.

Me: The Constitution was written by deeply religious men and is VERY VERY CLEAR in its support of God and the principles contained in the Bible. Homosexual marriage is not the spirit of what marriage is. Its a union between a man and woman. Again we're back to things like Morality, Principles and God. Things most liberals detest. 13-4 me.

You: The public has a right to know about Hillary’s cattle trades, but George Bush’s driving record is none of our business.

Me: You win this one hands down. Way to go! I knew you had another one in you. 13-5 me.

You: You support states’ rights, which means Attorney General John Ashcroft can tell states what local voter initiatives they have a right to adopt.

Me: I dont have enough information but if its regarding the presidential election (youre probably talking about Florida) it is a Federal issue not a state issue. Otherwise extreme liberal states who knew a republican was likely to win could change laws midstream to favor the I mean Democratic candidates. Draw

You: What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the ’80s is irrelevant.

Me: I think there was plenty of interest by the media about Bush's coc aine and drinking problems in the 80's. Case Dismissed. Interest though how Clinton admitting to smoking weed was "cool" but Bush's drinking and coc aine (and rampant partying) was the exact i wonder why? Because if someone is a Republican NOTHING they do is good according to you people (liberals/democrats). 14-5 me and here comes your last chance to score...9 points to catch up.

You: Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.

Me: I agree to a point. But even somebody like you can see the enormous complexities of something like this. China can literally destory the whole world. They nuke us, we nuke them, world over. This is one of the thousands of reasons that we deal with them differently. Vietnam, I can only offer this: We trade with the DPRK to help the millions of economically ravaged people? I dont know, why we trade with them. I dont think we should be. Ill give you a full point on this one even though Im right about China. Thats like, 3 I gave you that are debatable. 14-6 Me

As usual the liberal/democrat arguement loses to the might of Logic every time.

Better luck next time. Maybe if you watched "Queer Eye" some more you could be more convincing.

No but it wouldnt be a bad idea to have an entrance exam, at the very least to keep embarrasments like rush limbaugh out of the party.
