Two believed dead in light plane crash in Canley Vale

TWO people are now believed to have died in a light plane crash in Sydney's south west this morning.

Police say at least two people are believed to have been on board the Piper PA-31 Mojave, which burst into flames when it crashed and exploded at Canley Vale at 8.10am after hitting a power pole.

However, police have so far only confirmed one person died in the accident, but did not say whether it was the pilot. Witnesses told how the plane, weaving and out of control, came down only metre

Whoa! I can believe a light plane crashed southeast of where I live.

Condolences for the poor pilot who tried to limp his Piper PA-31 to Bankstown Airport.

Luckily no school children were injured, as it happened before school time.

Too bad the power pole it cut caused a power outage.
