I can try just plain text:

en.wikipedia.org...:Contributions/A

I can try the URL feature:

en.wikipedia.org...:Contributions/A

I can try as a quote:

en.wikipedia.org...:Contributions/A

None seem to work correctly. How is it done?

(This is just an example URL by the way, no specific meaning)

[url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/A] link [/url]

*note the spaces after the opening URL tag and before the closing URL tag

Inserting the spaces will also work for those Very long URLs that often get broken or truncated

Thank you very much.

Can this issue be fixed? It's good to know the workaround, but it would be better if it 'just worked'

Hmm, that still didn't work for me, could you take a look please? I posted my thread with those spaces added.

It's inherent to the board code and how it handles certain special characters. You can still use the URL feature, all you have to do is insert the two spaces. click. click. lickety split.

You're still using the full URL as the "name" for the link. The special characters will still "break" it.

Try shortening the "name" to just "en.wikipedia.org" or similar.

e.g.
en.wikipedia.org

I had another problem today with this.

www.arrl.org..." target="_blank" class="postlink"> Archive Link

These archive.org links seem to not work even with the space trick.

I then tried to make a TinyURL link instead to get around it, and that failed too.

tinyurl

Does ATS block the tinyurl? It seems to just remove part of the URL.

I manged to finally get around it using the preview version of tinyurl, but it's quite frustrating to have to go to these lengths just to post a link.

trying something out, no idea if it'll work or not...

EDIT: it didn't work
I think the problem those links are having is that they include the characters "http" or "url" within the link itself. Maybe someone else will have a workaround that works (I tried putting the urls in quotes)

That would be:

Surfin': Long-Delayed Echoes Again

The trick is to replace the ":" with "%3A". See this page for more info.
