Video Camera recommendations plz

I'm looking for a portable, small video camera. Hoping to spend around $600 (USD) or less. Main thing I want is that it's small, but also I have a knack for seeing UFOs! Seen 9 in my life - so I'm planning on carrying this with me frequently and it has to be able to zoom or capture a vid of something small and far off.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Sony HD Handycam. I own one of these. It's really nice. HD video, decent sound quality, bells and whistles. And it's in your price range.
