So.. The best fix I have ever heard for this came from someone here on ATS, and even my 5 year old nephew had thought of it on his own.

Cut a Military warship or a cruise liner in half, gut it out. Use it as a dome to be placed OVER where the oil is spewing from. Open 1 window [Ships have round windows] as a pressure release, while having a dozen or so other windows with pipes connected to suck the oil out to a tanker floating on the surface.

This WOULD work if tried. But now I can't help but think that this whole thing is a terrorist act. Anyways heres a picture my Nephew made showing how it would work[I labeled some stuff in it for ease of viewing]

This is very likely an absurd question, but I have to ask, and in the most non-technical terms.

Is there a way to sorta "flip this thing over", and send this oil back from whence it came? Back into the earth?

If you follow through with the theory of this being deliberately motioned then saying we need the intervention of ET, well you can take it one step further and contemplate the notion that the elite are in cahoots with the very ET race that are set to come and *save* the planet. Problem-reaction-solution. What better time to make your entrance as saviours , when the world is on it's knees in despair. I know this is off topic but had to throw it out there after your comment.

They SHOULD be trying anything and everything now. I can't understand why after 2 months of this there is not a massive international presence in the gulf all working together to try and siphon off the oil. Too little seems to be getting done which in itself is suspicious really.

Interesting read:
www.voltairenet.org...

Some quotes
"Gulf Oil Spill ‘Could Go Years’ If Not Dealt With"

"Senior researchers tell us that the BP drilling hit one of the oil migration channels and that the leakage could continue for years unless decisive steps are undertaken, something that seems far from the present strategy."

"According to Kutcherov, a leading specialist in the theory of abiogenic deep origin of petroleum, “What BP drilled into was what we call a ‘migration channel,’ a deep fault on which hydrocarbons generated in the depth of our planet migrate to the crust and are accumulated in rocks, something like Ghawar in Saudi Arabia.” [2] Ghawar, the world’s most prolific oilfield has been producing millions of barrels daily for almost 70 years with no end in sight. According to the abiotic science, Ghawar like all elephant and giant oil and gas deposits all over the world, is located on a migration channel similar to that in the oil-rich Gulf of Mexico.

I agree - if BP quit the Corexit it would float to the surface. Obama should request international assistance to collect the oil on the surface...

...at BPs expense.

Sorry to say folks, Obama is inept.

Thanks for all your work OP. Well done. Intuition tells me this is closest to the truth I've seen, read yet.

Listened to web bots 2010 predictions from coast2coast am this morning, and can easily see how this may relate to their July 8th prediction of a beginning of unrest and collapse.

Really depressed now, think I'll go have a good cry....

Peace

Half the Gulf should be covered with ships from all around the planet now!

Why can't they just drop another pipe and fill up Supertankers?

Why can't they do anything? They aren't even listening to common sense.
They haven't, and they won't. The government simply has to get them off the water.

They have too much at stake...too many conflicts of interests. They apparently can't see beyond minimizing litigations.

Time to call in Gulf, Exxon, the Russians, or listen to five year olds if need be. They sure can't do any worse...

A solution (could have been by a 5 yr old) was proposed in this thread -- "pile a lot of sand bags and junk on the leak site until the leaking stops". But that makes too much sense for the high tech score keepers who populate this site.

I am in agreement with posts that ask where is the uber powerful, coordinated, cooperative international response that would have superb leadership at the top and have all the resources, industrial and military might in a concerted Big Plan effort?

Here is what I think should be happening whether they use my idea (posted in this thread) or something like the idea posted above which is from someone's 5-year-old nephew...

The president should be in charge now as the commander-in-chief on this whole problem. BP should now be required by the president and the U.S. military to cooperate fully in a supportive role or step aside completely. NASA should be the engineering team tasked by the president to come up with a solution that could be implemented relatively quickly. Why NASA? Remember the movie Apollo 13? NASA engineers are the best and most innovative in the world bar none and when given all the resources they need, they can flat out get the job done.

The full might of the U.S. military should be on scene in coastal states right now in clean-up operations that would dwarf the current efforts.

Don't tell me that the U.S. Navy doesn't have any and all necessary submersible robotics. They do. In spades.

President Obama... take charge. Put BP in a supporting role or kick them out of the gulf completely. Put NASA in charge of engineering a quickly mobilized, fast acting solution. NASA should have at its service the total might, whatever is needed, of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. President, GET ON IT

That's interesting, but I just wonder whether the hardware available (little electric motor powered ROVs) would be able to locate anything that large and heavy (the hull structure) either accurately or forcefully enough (read previous posts in this thread and by OP which state re: deep-water currents/seabed instability and inability to support any weight - largest structure down there now: BOP supported not by seabed but by the well pipe)? Even lowered by (are ther large enough?) cranes it would need careful locating against the currents.

I also wonder whether, given the combination of the water pressure at those depths, that could crush most submarines, and the difficulties with oil/gas pressure (and buoyancy?) how likely success would be here.

Remember also, that as the OP argues, the ongoing efforts of the high pressure and oil/gas/abrasive-sediments 'flow', if indeed the initial explosion/event appears to have triggered damage deep down, granting the flow-mixture access out of any engineered structure, as it pushes up/out in the rock/well to what seem to be possibly rather permeable rock, or salt, and therefore alternative routes to the surface of the seabed...so if you get the installation of your device slightly wrong, you may trigger a blow out elsewhere on the seafloor, why I think the OP is so worried...I think?

Obama is not inept. He is evil and has completely defied this country . . . just as was always intended. He has done exactly as his puppetmasters have ordered him to do.

S & F to OP! This is the most well-researched and written post I have ever read. Easy to read and understand. While you are most-likely right, I sincerely hope you are wrong and the world continues on without mass chaos and destruction.

Unfortunately, the troubles of our planet have only just begun.

Has the nuke option been ruled out? The Russians seemed pretty keen that this option be used at the outset - would this option now just make things worse (if that's possible)?

This is probably the most worrying thread I ever read on ATS.

Thank you OP for bringing us this info and thanks also to those involved in the original article

Let's take this to the next level.
Someone mentioned that this could change the air that we breathe.
What if this is also the plan to change the air so these benevolent (lol) ETs will have an easier time breathing when they get here. Remember the elites are going underground.
IMO this looks more & more the truth from my cubical. What they are not telling us usually turns out to be the truth.

I really understand and agree that it seems very strange that we see no visible international or NASA type response.

However, I think the OP did hint at why that may not be visible. Is it not possible that they know (and we don't) about a combination of factors that render such attempts to intervene either inadvisable - due to risks - or futile - due to the immensity of the combined natural forces at play?

Imagine attempting to 'engineer' a halt to a volcanic eruption, even a relatively small one. As far as I am aware it is simply not possible with existing resources/knowledge/tech. It doesn't matter what munitions, or what ballast you pile on top, chances are you will have either no impact or make the outcome worse. Now imagine you are trying to do it beyond the operational depth of 99% of manned submersibles, mainly with small ROVs, on battery power....?

Hear hear (I'm clapping you loudly)

Proper leadership and intense, planet wide cooperation should have been underway weeks ago. It might help a bit if we had large scale activist rallies around the world too - this is a global issue now so where is all the noise ?

S&F OP for finding and sharing this with us (not plagarizing as the inattentive here seem to think).

This is the only line of thought I have seen that explains the swaying of the riser I have observed a few times of late.

Regarding the microbes, seems I read somewhere that the concern is because there is SO MUCH oil to consume, the microbes would grow so quickly that it would reduce the oxygen in the water.

YES, DEFINATELY YES, throw the microbes in now. BP does not want this because they scared they might get down the well and eat the product. PEACE.

I suspect that the U.S. Navy can operate robotics at that depth with no problem.

We are not talking about an erupting volcano. But yes, I see your point. However, it is an obvious fact that nothing has been tried on a large scale.

In my mind, it comes down to 1) ineptitude, 2) conspiracy to damage the planet for nefarious reasons.

Now, if it is ineptitude, then do as my post above... kick BP off the scene and put in NASA and the U.S. Navy and whatever resources they need. If Obama can't lead this, he should put someone in charge with the 'fortitude' to get the job done.

It's a shame we do not have a General George S. Patton or a Bull Halsey in charge of this whole thing!!
