French activists to sue Israel at ICJ over fatal flotilla raid

Bethlehem – Ma'an - French activists who took part in the Gaza-bound aid flotilla are expected to file suit on Saturday against Israel over allegations of war crimes committed during the raid in international waters.

Lilian Jalok, who represents the French activists, said, “I speak on behalf of the lawyers who will approach the International Court of Justice in the Hague over the Israeli attack on the aid ships which was undoubtedly a war crime.”

"We must stop this bloody Israeli escalation and the only way is international judiciary. We want to stop Israel through punishing its leaders who partook in the operation. We will mainly target the leaders who gave the orders and those who executed them," Jalok said.

I'm curious to see how far this gets and what the ramifications will be, if any at all. It's good to see that some of the participants in the flotilla are not letting this go so easily.

I suspect that Israel... and the US, will do everything in their power from either letting this go forward or coming to the attention of the public. If they can actually have their complaints heard, I am confident that they will be appeased, though even having it heard is a hurdle. Lets all keep a close eye on this suit.

I do not know how the process of Hague works. Can anyone file a case in international court for war crimes? Anyway, I still commend these French guy for taking this action. With the new smuggled out video released they can accurately judge the whole incident. I only hope the Hague convention and international court does not get silenced and bullied.

Funny I was thinking that maybe new allegations will surface reporting this French guy had terrorist connections, funding of al-qaeda and taliban...we all know now how the game is played.
