This just popped up on my quakealert.

earthquake.usgs.gov...

doesn't look to be very close to rural areas but still an interesting event..

Quakes happen all of the time due to shifting tectonic plates, but you're right, it is an interesting event to say the least.

Note: Banda Aceh was devastated by the tsunami from the 2004 quake.

It says 95 miles away from Nicobar Islands, India. They could be in for some waves. I googled it, and saw images of a beautiful island scenes. Proabably they have some tourists there and local people living there.

its about 80 miles away from teresa island wich has quite a few structures
