I think that ATS has been infiltrated.
A majority of threads and posts are nothing but ,”we're better than you” junk.
These Cointel agents are doing everything to divide people and pit them, or us, against each other. Just read their names and verbiage in their avatar. Then look at the date they joined (mostly all within the last 8 months) or their supposed location. From threads to posts: all they do is insult and fan the flames of discord.
The majority of threads and posts never read like this 3 or 4 years ago.

Just because someone disagrees with your line of thought doesn't make them a disinfo agent.

I question the motives of people who claim everyone is a disinfo agent or works for the government, or BP, or.....

Wake up and realize everyone doesn't share your distorted view of reality. You attack people in the same manner you sit here accussing others of, does that make you the same?

Or do you just share a different opinion?

While I agree that ATS could easily be monitored by disinfo agents etc etc..(Hell, I've been called one)

But that is just it. A site that allows people to post opinions will always have disagreement. Example:

I like old school Metallica (before the black album)

Others do not. Or even like thrash metal at all. Cool enough. Some are so strong against the whole "Heavy Metal" genre, that they scream louder than the metal vocalists themselves. haha.

I don't think it is a question of infiltration of specific agents, its the simple fact that people don't agree on everything all the time.

Also, being a conspiracy THEORY site, usually means that everything is up for interpretation by each individual.

That didn't turn out so well for the bible and religion. What makes this site holier than thou....(pun).

When you open the door to everybody, don't be suprised when everybody comes in.

Most of the posts/replys you are pointing out appear to me to come from a bunch of immature teen agers that have a lot of info, but not the good sense to use it properly...much like trading a six year old kid with a cap gun a real hand gun...

I suggest you simply glance over those posts that offend you. Just because it's on TV doesn't mesn you have to watch it....

I'll choose to argue a different side, though I wouldn't be surprised if there was at least one person on the board with shady motives. It is almost logical in today's age of technology, especially after considering what Israel did by sending out, what, 20,000 people to promote Israel in their side of the recent attack on the flotilla (and note I'm not trying to bring up that argument, there are already threads for that). In case you missed it :

www.reddit.com...

Then there were 3 members of ATS that were listed in government documents. You have the current administration adding a "Conspiracy Theory" page on a government website where they basically argue against any and everything. The US administration also wants mandatory government-sponsored arguments to be linked on all reports that go against the norm.

It would almost be surprising if they haven't done something in lines of what the OP is stating, though I really don't think it is as much as he might think. I will say the amount of fingerpointing and the good ol' "racist witchhunt" has infiltrated some threads where I don't remember seeing it nearly as much in the years before when I was reading through the threads without an account.

But maybe things are just heating up and people are reacting appropriately in a stressful situation? Perhaps people are just unsure of what the hell is really happening out there with all the different stories from governments and the overall secrecy of EVERY government and government agency. I think we're reaching a tipping point in the United States, and I have no idea what is going on in other countries. Let's just say I stocked up on canned goods today.

I'll take a shot in the dark and say I'm part of your infiltration conspiracy.

Nope I can't say I'm a disinfo agent, nor a political troll. Kind of strange though that you make this thread while having the location that says POLITICAL TROLLING, wouldn't you say?

While I strongly disagree with your politics and the politics of 90% of ATS'ers I don't think they are disinfo agents or immature. They have a different opinion and on a site designed to deny ignorance it sure seems like you are doing the opposite.

It seems there is at least a few Disinfo agents lurking around. I think it has somewhat under mind the content of the posts... I think people kinda hold back a little on their content. unless it is just me? I think a few years ago before I became a Member there was always something incredible to read about... Now It seems all politically motivated.
I would rather talk about Monsters and Aliens then Obama...

to some people, whole life itself is a war that has to be won, tho no-one walks out alive, so we may as well pull rope on same direction - as a humanity. but it has to be understood, that as soon as somebody adopts and ideal, belief, ideology or dogma, as soon he finds "enemies" to be fought.

it is really sad how most of us are. but i can't help that - i won't preach. i have nothing to preach, but instead i myself abandon all beliefs. if i can make myself different from all those ideology and belief defending people, i have won.

I have noticed that too. I was wondering if it was just me.

When I first joined there was always something interesting to read and it blew your mind. But now it all seems like the same old dog and pony show. Obama this, Socialism that. Government this, Israel that.

Maybe it's just that we are becoming complacent and are now use to the information and it is no longer a thrill to us because we have already now learned a lot about things that we previously had no clue of.

By whom? What constitutes a disinfo agent? An opinion differing from yours? ATS has an opinion to match every angle taken when looking at an issue, that would seem to make the vast majority of us "disinfo agents". The reality is, we're here to discuss an issue, whichever one it might be.

A majority of threads and posts are nothing but ,”we're better than you” junk.

You would be mistaken. The vast majority of threads are nothing of the sort. Most discuss an issue, or attempt to..., that has relevance to the thread starter.

These Cointel agents are doing everything to divide people and pit them, or us, against each other. Just read their names and verbiage in their avatar. That would be because people are joining ATS in huge numbers over the past two to three years. I'll agree, some of the names are a bit out there at times, but there were "outthere" names five years ago when I first joined, too. All they do is insult? Actually I see a lot of thoughtful posting going on from new members on a constant basis. They're here to do the same thing you and I are here for, discussion of issues important to us. So I'm going to respectfully disagree with you...

The majority of threads and posts never read like this 3 or 4 years ago.

There weren't as many...that much is true. But there weren't as many members either... With the astronomical growth of ATS over the past couple of years there is bound to be more threads that are of lesser quality...that's the way things go.

There really is no comparison between the ATS of today, and the one from 4 years ago... Mostly it's better now. Sure some things were better then, it was a more intimate atmosphere, we all knew each other, and what our opinions on certain subjects would be...now it's a guess as to what someones opinion might be, because we don't know them...yet. That actually makes it better.

Infiltrated? Not in the way you've proposed. Just with a wildly differing group of members all of whom have something to offer us, if given a chance...and not chased off by being labeled.

This sounds a lot like you got your ass kicked in a fight, so you compain to your mom, "you know, school didn't suck so bad last year, before that new kid came along and stole my girlfriend."
Don't take discourse personally. It's a way of challenging your thought process. For example, some people are put off by the irrational hatred of jews and believe the site must be a hotbed of muslims. Sounds like you're saying, free speech is great, as long as it's in general agreement with me. Just an observation.

I use to just think maybe there hasn't been any news coming out in the conspiracy world... but when has that stopped people from just making things up. So good it is just not me.

When I saw the thread title, I thought "okay. Who are we being infiltrated with now?"

Muslem haters?
Muslem lovers?

Israel haters?
Israel lovers?

Atheists?
Christians?

School kids out for the summer?

Government-paid disinfo agents?

Moderators with a hidden agenda to make our lives a living hell?

Trolls and Spammers?

Republicans?
Democrats?
Libertarians?

People who hate Glenn Beck?
People who love Sarah Palin?

Who is the infiltrator du jour? Cointel agents.

Yawn.

Without a doubt, ATS is an amazing place to get up-to-the-minute info on breaking situations. The sources that some members bring to a thread are really good and the MSM can't even begin to compete. And honestly, I don't think they want to most of the time.

I'm sure there are disinfo trolls on here. If someone tears apart one of my posts, I try to decide whether or not they are worth debating or not - is there any validity to their argument? If not I usually just dn't respond.

No matter what anybody says, in the end you have to think for yourself.

Hello,

I would like to invite you and others to a thread of mine...

www.abovetopsecret.com...

I'm not saying this is any kind of proof...

I do find it however suspicious.

Well lets use logic little bit with your theory.

If I were a under cover dis-info agent and I wanted to be sure others excepted me,I would raise the issue of dis-info agents being here to make myself seem as a legitimate conspiracy theorist.

It is actually a known commonly used tactic by government undercover agents when they infiltrate a group.

The first thing someone will do to see if YOU are trusted is check your profile and look at your threads that you started and see this one.

Same thing happened to slashdot years ago. In the first few years operation the board posters were mostly informed and insightful. As the board aged it just got overrun by trolls. You can filter through the crap reading just your favorite authors threads but you miss a lot that way.

This is to be expected though. With the modern rise of free thinkers, the openness of the internet, the popularity of conspiracy and strange, of course there are agents of deceit here.

"Supposed location"
Most people don't even name a real location. Politically Trolling isn't a real location either. I name mine, because I like being from Canada. If I was from Australia I would also name that location, because it sounds like a cool place to be from.
What would a location have to do with infiltration? I will have to start paying better attention to locations. I mostly only notice fellow Canucks.

"Human kind cannot bear too much reality."
T. S. Elliot

"Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened."
Winston Churchill

I can speak with a great deal of knowledge and experience in the field of truth. You would be surprised how many people, when told the truth, react as if stabbed in the heart. Learning the truth always involves a dramatic change in one's understanding, closely followed by a decision to speak out and risk complete ridicule or retreat to the ignorance of bliss.

Most people will choose bliss.
