Saudis clear Israel to bomb Iran?

www.msnbc.msn.com

Saudi Arabia will allow Israel to use a narrow corridor of its airspace in the north of the country to shorten the distance for a bombing run on Iran's nuclear facilities, the London Times reported on Saturday.

Quoting unnamed U.S. defense sources, the newspaper said Riyadh conducted tests to be sure its own jets would not be scrambled and missile defenses not be activated so Israeli bombers could pass by without problems

Interesting story here. Things are certainly heating up now with the new UN Resolutions being passed and Iran saying they are worthless pieces of paper.

With other Aide flotillas planned to head to Gaza and Israel being in the situation they are currently in, will they really go for it now?

I feel like I am following a bad chess game. Reading this statement didn't really make me feel much better, only somewhat:

The Obama administration has refused to give its approval as it pursues a diplomatic solution to curbing Iran’s nuclear ambitions, the Times said.

I used to think watching or paying attention to military strategy was very interesting, but no more. I don't understand why, as corny as it sounds, why can't we all just get along.......

And we also have a story today stating Iran have increased their security around the country as its the 1yr anniversary of the Elections. Maybe the real reason for heightened security is because they know something else is coming???

That is a credible thought. Seems the world is going to hell in a proverbial handbasket, or more like people are pushing and pulling it there!

It's been a crazy time the last few months, actually since the start of 2010!

I hope things settle down, but in all honesty I can't see any way in which they can, without a large scale conflict first.

I wonder if this story is somehow related:

Prince Warns S. Arabia of Apocalypse

Saudi Prince Turki bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud has warned the country's royal family to step down and flee before a military coup or a popular uprising overthrows the kingdom.

In a letter published by Wagze news agency on Tuesday, the Cairo-based prince warned Saudi Arabia's ruling family of a fate similar to that of Iraq's executed dictator Saddam Hussein and the ousted Iranian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, calling on them to escape before people "cut off our heads in streets."

He warned that the Saudi royal family is no longer able to "impose" itself on people, arguing that deviations in carrying out the religious concepts that make up the basis of the Saudi government "have gotten out of our hands," so that the opposition views our acts as "interfering in people's private life and restricting their liberties."

Per Debka this is old news and it is. I remember when Debka broke this a while back...it just sounds like the air corrider offer still stands and Saudi decided to re-release this news again in light of the weak sanctions introduced last week. But as Debka notes, it doesnt look like US or Israel is taking them up on the offer.

Hmmmmm?

Saudi Arabia: We will not give Israel air corridor for Iran strike

Saudi Arabia would not allow Israeli bombers to pass through its airspace en route to a possible strike of Iran's nuclear facilities, a member of the Saudi royal family said Saturday, denying an earlier Times of London report.

I wonder if Isreal will use an E.M.P first and then go all out attack. Iran will not be able to defend itself against this sort of thing. I feel this july 4th will be a time marker for this activity. The U.S.A has everything in place for this to happen.TAKE THE VEIL OFF, WOMANS RIGHTS FOR OVER THERE.

As i stated, Debka said this was an old article just re-released by the London Times. The question is why?

that wont work because then it would be impossible to attack iran with planes. does this call of duty quote ring a bell, 'enemy EMP, all electronics are down"

on the other hand if iran is attacked it might use an emp over the mid east and carries a massive land invasion through iraq and then the gulf states. who will stop them? the saudis?

How did you come to the 4th July conclusion?

As for the timing, well, duh, sanctions were just imposed again, Iran is sending an "aid" flotilla to Gaza, and offering it's navy to escort other flotillas to Gaza.
Thing's are heating up as others have said, but really lets look at that with a bit of perspective, WHEN aren't things heating up in the middle east? It's what the middle east is known for.
