Growing Pains test 'Tea Party' movement

www.washingtonpost.com

The national tea party movement has never had a central organization or personality in charge; in fact, it has boasted the opposite. But Tuesday's primary results provided fresh evidence of the amorphous network's struggle to convert activist anger and energy into winning results. Frustrated and lacking agreement on what to do next, self-identified tea party leaders say the movement is in danger of breaking apart before it ever really comes together.

Well.. this is to be expected. The Tea Party movement wasn't early a movement as much as it was a loose affiliation of political organizations capitalizing on the sour grapes of a lost national election.

Looks like we've seen the demise of the Tea Party... Where is Rand Paul anyway?

Perhaps next time we can get a real movement.. .and not just a bunch of haters.

The MSM has refused to define the tea party movement correctly, I guess because the word party appears in the name.

Mostly, they're just in denial.

Tea parties have been a series of demonstrations by people from both political parties and some from none at all, who are disappointed with the election, either because they didn't vote for Obama and oppose his agenda or because they did vote for Obama and oppose his agenda.

The tea party movement is not an entity, it is a social construct only and it should stay that way, because as long as it's abstract, it will be much more problematic than if it organizes into another political party.

It's only the primaries. The day of reckoning is in November.

I'd have to say that you are right about that.

There isnt an actual entity behind the tea party... other than those who are trying to capitalize on it....
