Hi everybody:
It's been quite a while since I've heard a real funny song or seen a hilarious video.

I was inspired by hearing some old Mrs Miller material.
Mrs Miller was something of an "outsider talent", she sang really badly, but just good enough to be funny - and she never batted an eyelash at her own performances.
www.youtube.com...
She embodied "being so bad that you're good".
www.youtube.com...
I wonder if there other performers like that?
Another real favorite is the evergreen message of Little Jimmy Dickens in: "May the bird of paradise fly up your nose".www.youtube.com...
And then off course it's Nelly the Elephant:

Songs of any style are welcome that aren't vulgar, and supply some comic relief.

Oh how the 1980s rocked. One of my first singles - "I eat cannibals".
It inspired garbage bag dresses, and my favorite line: "What can I do, I'm in a stew"?
Still rocks.

Ras Dumisani unwittingly ruins the South African anthem at a major rugby game last year, as the players fight to keep their composure.
Fortunately it gave us weeks of non-stop laughter.

Ha, ha, ha - both funny and wierd!
Almost like a prelude to Alice Cooper in some ways, and that off-beat performance masking mediocrity.
Imagine introducing Tiny Tim to your folks.

Quite brilliant in a way.
The time was different, but it makes one think.
The performer who takes themself too seriously is easily parodied, and I suppose he's satirizing a whole class and style of performance.

I'm also reminded of the bard in Asterix, or Bianca Castefiore in Tintin.

I wonder, is the following Australian track funny, or just morbid?
Apparently it was quite a big hit at a stage.

Monty Python did serious issues funny really well. Some borders on vulgarity, but if I must include one great song, it's "Every sperm is sacred":

Ha, ha - soft targets?
No, I guess a gorgeous lead singer like that can get you all kind of friends (and one of the verses has a bizarre double meaning).

A somewhat baffling but interesting debate on whether "Sonseed" was a real band, and the authenticity of the clip on: message.snopes.com...
Apparently other people have found a verse in the song (never mind the group's name) hilariously ironic.
If true they were Catholic and indeed gave their profits to good causes.
So kudos to them.
Time to watch it for the 10th time - that singer leadeth me into temptation.

Thanks for that. Freddie Mercury had both serious stage-craft, but also performed in a very upfront way.
I don't think any lesser singer/performer could have gotten away with the camp mannerisms. It's sheer genius.

Had a flashback down memory lane, and thought of Mucky Pup: "You stink, but I love you". The ultimate revenge song for lads, and very popular at the time: www.youtube.com...
