Sharron Angle, following her come-from-behind Republican primary win Tuesday, has bounced to an 11-point lead over Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in Nevada’s closely watched U.S. Senate race.

Taken Wednesday night, shows Angle earning 50 percent support while Reid picks up 39 percent of the vote. Five percent like some other candidate, and 6 percent are undecided. A month ago, Angle led Reid 48 percent to 40 percent but ran poorest against the incumbent of the three GOP primary hopefuls as she has for months.

Reid will try to portray Angle, a Christian conservative who drew heavily on tea party support for her win, as unacceptable to the state. Still, the race for now continues to be about the incumbent, who earned 61 percent of the vote when he was reelected in 2004 but whose support in this election cycle against any Republican candidate has never risen above the low 40s.

Despite their hotly contested primary, Republicans already appear to be solidifying behind Angle who now earns 88 percent support among voters in her party. Reid draws 68 percent support from Democrats. Voters not affiliated with either party prefer Angle by 10 points.

Both candidates are well-known in the state, but at this point in a campaign, Rasmussen Reports considers the number of people with a strong opinion more significant than the total favorable/unfavorable numbers.

Angle, a teacher by profession who now serves in the state legislature. Ms. Angle is somewhat of a stranger to Clark County voters despite having served four terms in the Nevada State Assembly and leading numerous efforts to hold back the Carson City tide of tax increases. Her conservative bonafides are solid and her campaign theme is centered on breathing life back into a party that has strayed from conservatism during the Bush era. She intends to differentiate herself from fellow Republican challengers by positioning herself as a conservative, as opposed to simply a republican.

Like no other time in our recent history, there is a chance to take out this moron. I hope the Republicans, Conservatives, displaced Dems and any others untie and show this clown the door ASAP. Even before the ObamaCare vote.

Another great example of why there should be term limits.

Reid will be a good start! Then Obama (if he even makes it the full first term without being impeached or forced to resign) then Pelosi. The 3 Stooges.

This woman Sharron Angle.

is...

AWESOME! hahaha

www.sharronangle.com...

Audit the Fed - check
Anti-global warming - check
Deregulation of energy industry -check
Abolish IRS - check
Eliminate the Dept of Education - check
Massively cut spending - check
Reject UN control - check
Repeal Obamacare - check
Secure the borders - check
Forced balanced budget - check
Dismantle Fannie/Freddie - check
Protect 2nd amendment - check
Campaign finance reform - check

The biggest one is an an unknown, defunding the wars. She is strongly in support of Israel and a strong military, but often libertarians say this while at the same time rejecting foreign wars of aggression since the two are not mutually exclusive.

I would bet she just might vote against war funding given her fiscal/constitutional stance.

It's about DAMN time !!!!

Harry Reid's new campaign slogan:

"Would you like fries with that???"

or maybe that's just what he will be saying
in his next job.

Good riddance.
Demise of the congressional dinosaurs!!!!

I have to agree with you.

At this rate, she will be a contender for the Presidency someday.

It all starts with taking out Clown Reid. And then sticking to her words that got her the votes!!!

I have to say for folks like Palin-you will have your work cut out for you to beat this one (and some of the others coming to the forefront-And I like Palin)

Dude she is so awesome.

I noticed she didn't mention the two most controversial topics libertarians adhere to - which is good.

Ending the wars and ending the war on drugs.

I'll bet dollars to doughnuts she is in favor of both.

With the kind of budget and fiscal cuts she is talking about, I can't see how she would want to continue funding them.

Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein, Schumer,
GET OUT OF HERE!
Not just the Congress, I mean the U.S.!!
Where is the tar and feathers?
A few more after they are gone,
Geithner, Bernanke, Sunstein, Napolitano, Emanuel, Obama,
Yes, the plank right there, just keep walking. Yes, those are sharks...
Then,
Goldman Sachs, let's see here. You guys have been naughty! Tell us everything, name names, and we will spare your lives. We reserve the right to castrate you, though.
Okay, where are the Bushes and the Clintons?

Don't anyone be an idiot and take this post as supporting Reid or anyone else but if you think Angle or anyone else getting elected is going to change one damn thing you need to back off the bong.

I don't care if you elect Barney the Purple Dinosaur, nothing will change. Nothing. You all had your chance back in '08 to support Ron Paul. But he was 'too radical', a 'nut job'. And here we are. I'd love to believe that there is some way that electing people from either of the two established parties would change things but it won't. I truly hope that in November the Republicans sweep the elections so you all will see that it doesn't make a damn bit of difference. Never has. Never will. All this back-and-forth does is give them the time they need to pillage this country into the ground. We're screwed. Get used to it.

This will make me just as happy as when that dufus Tom Daschle got voted out. The only thing sweeter would be Pelosi going bye-bye!

Wow, I like her credentials! The pro-Israel thing is a sticking point, but all-in-all, what a great candidate to see stick it to Reid.

Rachael Maddow was crowing yesterday about how there isn't any incumbent backlash. I'd love to see her spin Reid's loss, ha!

I have read her position on the issues and how she is strongly connected the right-wing conspiracy wackjob John Birch Society.

In addition to her abolition of Department of Education, Privatize Social Security, very Christian social beliefs and believes that fluoride in our water is a conspiracy.

This lady is absolutely crazy, she makes the Chicken Lady look sane. I don't like Harry Reid, but he is 1,000,000,000,000,000x better than this Right-wing libertarian conspiracy freak.

I can't wait for Ed Schultz view on the subject, it should be very intriguing and enlightening. He will mop the floor with this piece of #.

What's crazy is believing the government can provide a quality education for your kids - that's crazy.

What's crazy is believing that government putting toxic industrial waste by-product in our water supply is good for us - that's crazy.

What's crazy is believing the insolvent ponzi scheme known as socialist security will be there for your retirement - that's crazy.

S+F for you!! I can't wait to see old Harry with his bags packed.
He and Pelosi think they run the country and the sad part of that is they probably do because Obama is too busy hosting picnics and partys(oil spill anybody). Tipping one back with ya, cheers!

hahah money.

I don't agree with Angle on everything, but she is a hundred billion times better than the criminal Reid.

That communist needs to be tried for treason.

This is what it comes to? Just because you want someone out, you are willing to embrace a complete and total whackjob instead? I do not understand the logic. Legit concerns about Reid are one thing but replacing him with a certifiable nut is going to improve things how?

Brings thoughts of Germany before Hitler.

Then it was the Jews, today it's the 'illegals'.
Then it was the communists, today it's the...communists.

Economic collapse? Check
Percieved anti-nationalists in power? Check

Godwin wins again.

Anywho, we do have only two major political parties instead of three...we're also not under a monarch, which ultimately allowed Hitler to become Chancellor.

If the electorate is faced with two options they'll choose the 'lesser of two evils', in this case...Sharon Angle. Though, this thread is old and I don't think she's as popular as she was at the time of the OP.

Keep drinking that Republican Kool Aid.

So, no problems with Sharron Angle being a Scientologist eh?

She wants to ban same sex marriage, opposes the legalization of marijuana. sharronangle.com...

Do you even know who this person is? Have you researched this person at all or are you so against Harry Reid that you would vote for anyone at all without bothering to check out the person?

That's bein an informed voter y'all. (or, for this lot, it's just drinking the GOP Kool Aid.)
