"It is generally not the practice of this country to change the laws after the game," said Tom Donohue, the president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. ". . . Everybody is going to contribute to this clean up. We are all going to have to do it. We are going to have to get the money from the government and from the companies and we will figure out a way to do that."
Yes, now is the time for America to come together and demonstrate some communitarian pluck in response to the time that all of us collectively decided that BP should cut corners, blow up their oil rig, and cause a massive disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.

www.huffingtonpost.com...

House Minority Leader John Boehner cosigns this call for collective responsibility:

In response to a question from TPMDC, House Minority Leader John Boehner said he believes taxpayers should help pick up the tab for the clean up.

They changed the [FISA] law after corporations & the US government agencies had ALREADY broken them.

So he is full of his own BS.

GOP policy,

Socialism/Communism for the rich & corporations,

and Capitalism slavery for taxpayers & unborn American babies.

GOP -> CORPORATE TYRANNY.

I know Boehner's nephew pretty well. He's an idiot too. The whole family is pretty slow, but John's always had that ability to seem like he's on the ball. That can happen when someone is just smart enough to know how to appear as if he has a clue, but is too stupid to realize that eventually he won't be able to maintain the facade. If John were a Senator, he'd already be back home and in the private sector by now. The House is a great place to hide out until everyone above you is cleaned out through old age and scandal.

Uh no. BP, Transocean, and Haliburton should shoulder any and all responsibility.

It is absurd to expect the American taxpayers to pay for the gross negligence of such a massive corporation. Hell BP - they were about to pay out HOW MANY billions in dividends?!

anyone check on his campaign contributions yet?

My guess is there's going to be a very big contribution from BP, if not now, then very very soon

Hate to break up the partisan hate-fest but in the end of course we are going to pay for it.

The fed can completely take over BP and liquidate it's assets and it still wouldnt come close to paying for this clean-up over the long haul.

Now you can go back to bashing one of your rapists while lauding the other.

No need to actually read the article, here is what Boehner said-

In response to a question from TPMDC, House Minority Leader John Boehner said he believes taxpayers should help pick up the tab for the clean up. "I think the people responsible in the oil spill--BP and the federal government--should take full responsibility for what's happening there," Boehner said at his weekly press conference this morning.

Now, who do you think he means?

I say destroy both the repub and dem parties and anyone that backs the two party demon from hell.

Frelling ignorance.

Going to keep voting for the dems and repubs? Thought so!

edit to add-

Notice the first part of the SUPPOSED QUOTE, that is the interpretation of the writer, not what Boehner said

Keep drinking the koolaid and reading hit pieces from HACKS like the HUFFPO!
