Who Do You Call For a Spirit Guide?

I've been reading a lot about guides into spirituality on the discussion board. I just wanted to ask people who delve into their spirituality who they call for guidance? And how much success have you had in calling certain spirits? I know that when I call Babaji, I always have a feeling of peace, but who else is out there to help?

For me, it's the Blessed Virgin Mary. Probably because I was raised Catholic ...but, when I call upon her, I have a tremendous sense of peace.

To answer your question about spirit guides...I call on my animal guides, sometimes my departed Uncle (whome I never met....interesting story there.) At any rate, the great thing about guides ( at least I feel) is that we all have them and they can take on whatever appearance is most comfortable for you.

Old thread but still a good question. When people are looking for spirit guides, how do they call one that is positive? Why should they have one? Why not?
