13 different countries have offered aid in Gulf oil spill: US has accepted 0

The United States said Thursday it had received offers of aid to clean up the Gulf of Mexico oil spill from Canada and Mexico, 10 European countries, South Korea and the United Nations.

[color=33]The US State Department said there was no immediate need for the assistance offered but that the US Coast Guard was trying to evaluate whether there would be in the future

I'm speechless...

They are: Britain, Canada, Croatia, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and the United Nations.

We need all of the help we can get! I can't tell you how frustrated I am hearing this news. Why on earth would we turn down help in one of the largest environmental disasters ever?

"While there is no need right now that the US cannot meet, the US Coast Guard is assessing these offers of assistance to see if there will be something which we will need in the near future," it added.

Ya, tell that to these guys.

That's because the USA cannot accept. The USA's hands are tied. They do not run the show but BP does. They and the other corporations Own America.

Nothing The President or anyone else can do.

You can get all the help in the world. They are not gonna be able to stop that at least for another year. That oil is coming up through the cracked ocean floor.

Something is up.

They are letting the gulf die, and don't seem to really care to stop it.

Now with the new news that BP might go bankrupt, what happens when NO ONE is cleaning or plugging the hole?

That would also take out the UK, as they are already feeling the effects of BP's stock dropping, if they closed it would be a catastrophe.

Especially because that means NO ONE IS GOING TO CLEAN OR STOP THE OIL.

the Dutch are sending skimmers.

The Dutch government is supplying six sweeping arm systems for the BP oil spill. The technology involves a skimmer that picks up oil and water and then separates the two.

The biggest problem is the EPA.

The Americans don’t have spill response vessels with skimmers because their environment regulations do not allow it. With the Dutch method seawater is sucked up with the oil by the skimmer. The oil is stored in the tanker and the superfluous water is pumped overboard. But the water does contain some oil residue, and that is too much according to US environment regulations. IE THE EPA.



The EPA does not care if the gulf fills with oil as long as no regulations are broken.

The United States is the people.

The Government is NOT the people, NOR the United States, it is ONLY the government.

The thread more accurately should say the US government has rejected offers of aid.

Please NEVER confuse America or the United States with this government, which is neither.

Notably this government which espouses to work for the people, is completely fraudulent & works for ex-patriot, tax dodging corporations.

You pay the taxes,
ex-patriot corporations get represented [as well as unending corporate welfare],
