I agreed that it was not doctored IMO.

If I may inquire..

What type of camera (and model number) and how many megapixels is it?

Edit to add.. forget the camera bit.. just read that it was a blackberry..

Well my post was in response to what you had said to something else...

I did read the OP, and I did DL the picture and zoom in/play around with it for a minute. It still looks like a helicopter, and frankly there is nothing to analyze. What you have is a far off black dot that is shaped like a helicopter, and your claims that you heard nothing and have no subsequent pictures of the object really isn't worth analyzing either. Can you post a few pictures of the area after the one where the object was captured?

The photo doesn't look doctored to me, but I am no expert on that. The pixel squares on the left of the object always turn up, and I highly doubt you would have doctored a photo to look like a helicopter (to ME looks like a helicopter) either.

After "analyzing" this photo for the last few minutes, downloading it and looking at in photoshop, my opinion is that this dot, or object...whatever it may be..will not be satisfactorily identified by any of us.

Some will say it is a helicopter. And well, if you look at it with that in mind it will begin to look like a helicopter.

Someone also mentioned a "tadpole" shape. Well, strangely enough with that in mind after looking at it for a while I see the resemblance which would make the argument of it being a helicopter a little more plausible.

I have a feeling when the next possible object is suggested some of us will begin to see that shape in this photo as well.

The end result? Based on the information given to us and the tiny size of the object in the photo I doubt any of us here will ever truly know.

I supposed with that in mind it might be safe to say that this dot, or object, or whatever you want to call it is the very essence of the term "UFO".

Im not an expert, Im not a debunker...that's just my opinion.

My initial reaction was "oh that's a helicopter". After looking at it further, it continues to look like a helicopter. Sorry, but that's all it appears to be. Could it be something else? Sure. But it seems to be....a helicopter.

And thats why I used the term "UFO" people automaticlly assume when they hear UFO that it means some kind of alien space craft. I said nothing of the sort just merely that its a UFO. I"m skeptic about my own picture I said it looks like a helicopter but after blowing it up on my High Def it dosent look like a chopper.

Just trying to get educated opinions or analysis on it

Seriously if you arent going to make an educated analysis and take one look at the pic and say somthing stupid like "oh its a helicopter" or "Its a plane" then dont waste your time replying because I dont want to waste my time reading your garbage.

I know what it could be as Ive already stated i thought it was a helicopter at first but upon further analysis I dont believe this to be the case.

so with much respect dont waist my time and yours. thanks

Well dont waste other peoples time posting the TYPICAL look a ufo in my picture post ie a blurry dot at the resolution limit of the picture.

Also if you cant understand why people think that maybe a helicopter look at it they see a blob with a possible line above and in LA they are flying about all the time.

You dont think its a helicopter so WHY do you think that!

You say you took it with a Blackberry storm so not even a real camera then

All pictures have a resolution limit and when objects are at that the way they look can change .

good example here.

I hear ya...this can be a very harsh forum. Im sure youve seen the thread that goes into detail about this very type of situation. Im sure we'll hear more about what it is...and each time it might look just a little bit different.

Or maybe not...who knows?

Sorry but blowing it up in Hi Def means nothing film be it video or still has a FAR higher resolution than Hi Def thats why films made many years ago are being transfered to Blu -Ray now.

I could view it through my HD projector onto my 92" screen all I will see is the same dot/basic shape only larger.

because some people like myself have a general interest in examining unexplained phenomena. I cant explain without a doubt what it is in the picture and neither can you. so I post it here because this is where to post this sort of thing. If you dont have an interest in it then go into a thread where you will be interested in the topic. other than that dont post replies that are meaningless and that do not add to the discussion. Thats why some people get irritated along with the people who flame them, or get rude with them, or press their beliefs on them.

I apologize if i got rude with anybody.

exactly the larger i got it the less the "dot" looked like a helicopter. You guys all want like a 10,000x10,000 resolution picture like the average person carries around equipment capable of taking that sort of picture or even close to that if it were possible. Truth of the matter is its improbable that you will ever get that kind of picture unless it was a planned event. I think my picture is of decent quality compared to some I have seen before.

At least it was a day time picture of decent clarity. and not some blurry night shot of a white light dot in the sky.

You are acting a lil bit rude if i may say so and i have to disagree with noisemedia about this forum being harsh.I just saw the other way around.

You asked for opinions and you're getting them, why you get so angry about it?Do you want people to let you know what they think of it or you want em to write what you wanna read?

Anyway...Here comes my opinion about it too.
I know you said that you haven't messed with the picture but let's face it,hoaxers don't admit it,do they?I don't mean you are one,i'm just trying to explain why i can't take your word as a fact.Nothing personal.
So,i'm not gonna say that it could be a chopper or anything like that,i'm just gonna say that it's an unidentified....thing.
When and if someone specialised on digital pictures says that the picture is "ok" then i guess we can call it a UFO.

I totally agree with airspoon though that we should check the common possibilities first and then go further (assuming we didn't go anywhere with the common ones).

Im not angry at all. and i do apologize if i seem rude. I do want opinions and im happy with some of them not just the ones that go with what i think. the opinions that i dont want are the meaningless ones from people who dont take the time to look at it and totally dismiss it and say its a helicopter when they didnt tak the time to come to an educated conclusion.

I understand and it's cool. There's really no "educated opinion" though if you'll think about it.
We don't do anything more here but to exchange opinions and any info we might have.

I understand though that you don't want any trolls around.Don't worry about that,no matter what they will say i don't believe they can affect the opinion of other members so no worries.
In the other hand, some replies could be seem like trolling but maybe they're not.

Just don't sweat about things like that, there's no point.

Btw,this picture indeed is not bad,it's just that the damn thing is too far for anyone to tell.

Okay, my few cents for what it is worth. I am a photographer, but I am not making any photographic claims here... looks like a chopper to me.

The OP claims that when he views it on his hi-def screen it no longer looks like a chopper, and I agree with the other posters, that a pixel is a pixel is a pixel, a larger screen will not improve the detail and/or resolution, but I have a theory regarding the OP's observation.

Some hi-def screens have the abitlity to upscale images so it looks better on the larger screen (else the lower res images appear pixelated on your fancy system). Maybe this is what is happening on the OPs system, when the image is upscaled on his system, it might "smooth" the pixels which cause the "chopper" to lose the "rotors", or something similar.

Just an idea, I don't have hi-def screens capable of upscaling available here to test it on. Use it or lose it :-)

d00d. I looked at the photo. Looked closer. Held down control button and used my mouse wheel to zoom the picture as much as i could. It still looked like a helicopter to me. It does have that tad-pole shape. There was a sort of semi/ 3/4 circle near it.... and from standing where you were compared to the UFO, a helicopter moving forwards away from your position has it's nose down, and tail up. AKA. Tad-pole.

It looked like a helicopter. So i said it. It could be an alien or military craft... But it looked like a helicopter from what i could gather....and so i said it. Heaven forbid i could voice my opinion as requested. If it's not what you want to hear, well, too bad.

BTW i do believe in UFO's and i have seen 3 myself so please don't think i'm some d00d who disregards these things....

It just looked like a helicopter..

PS. What sort of educated opinion are you after? It's not like UFO'oligy is taught in schools or university...
