Google's front page, the oil spill?

Hey has anyone checked out google's newest front page? Is the background an image of the oil spill in the gulf? There is not a link on the google logo which usually tells us some info about the design for their front page.

Or something like that, but mine doesnt have that.

OP, I thought the exact same thing, that is was the oil spill. Seems like google is playing an active role in keeping this in peoples' awareness?

Its different for everyone, I got some trees, clicked the link and you can from there change it to whatever you like from what others have suggested

No real oil link to the background.

Looks like Google is trying to compete with BING

Hmm, perhaps but Google usually does these background changes. the difference I'm noticing now is that it changed to some painted [stuffed?] animals instead of having that wetlands [marsh?] background. Is Google trying some new ad campaign?

Nothing after first opening the Google page it should start to load a background image in about a second or three [three being the maximum amount]. Not sure why it's not showing up for you, perhaps try deleting the cookies for it and see?

you need to go to

google.com in ENGLISH

you need to be logged off your google account

and I didnt get the oil image, I got some other random one ... I believe

actually, it works on any google language google frnt page, but you need to be logged off I suppose ...

Mine has a multicoloured field of flowers.

Anyone know how to shut it off yet?

I read somewhere that the new background thing only lasts for 24 hrs. Hope that helps.

Mine shows a lake and mountains however, I do believe there's a chemtrail up in the sky
