Three Russian police officers have been arrested for using the credit card of a victim of the April plane crash that killed Polish president Lech Kaczynski.

Some 6,000 zlotys (£1,200) were withdrawn from the bank account of Andrezej Przewoznik, who headed Poland's committee in charge of monitoring national historic sites.

He was part of the Polish delegation heading to Katyn near the western Russian city of Smolensk for a commemoration ceremony marking the 1940 massacre of thousands of Polish army officers at the orders of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin.

"Three members of the OMON (riot police) who committed this disgusting act were quickly arrested thanks to co-operation between the Polish Security Agency and the Russian special services," Polish government spokesman Pawel Gras told Radio Zet.

The president's Russian-made Tupolev Tu-154 crashed on April 10 at Smolensk in western Russia while trying to land in thick fog, killing all 96 people on board


Are we the public to believe that Mr. Przewoznik's credit card was stolen before this crash or that the credit card survived the crash in good condition enough to do this? I suppose crazier things have happened, no?

I find this type of behaviour particularly disgusting, a similar thing happened to my Mother, she was slowly being consumed by cancer in a hospice, and during this time a worker at the hospice decided to steal my Mothers credit card, it was used after her death to purchase a plane ticket to Poland, my Father found out when the bank rang him to inquire if the transaction was genuine, he thought it was his account the bank was talking about, but no… it was my dead mothers account, it beggars belief people will stoop so low as to steal a dieing woman's credit card.. Scum of the Earth!

As to whether the card was stolen/found before the crash, does it really matter? You still have police officers using a credit card not belonging to them!!
