I just realized, after reading through many posts, that you're talking about taking the drug away from the addicts. this site didn't exist before 09/11/01 which was a mass trauma wherein many people couldn't stop watching the news and became addicted to the sense of power that comes from being 'a part of what's going on' instead of the more realistic complete lack of any power. the oil spill is feeding that addiction.

Thank you guys - you both said it so well!

As we have discussed and must make a point of, there is no point simply ignoring everything negative. I try to learn, understand, help (if possible) and grow.

Learn about the problem and the issues surrounding it. Understand each side of the story and how it is having an effect. Help by either direct or indirect means. Grow by using the lessons presented from the event and use them to spread the light.

Even something as horrible as the oil spill. Seeing those poor beautiful animals drowning in sludge breaks everybodies hearts, but instead of dwelling, i used that as an opportunity to give love to my pets, the plants in my garden, my family and friends. It made me appreciate what i can do in my little life to make others lives better.

A silver lining to every dark cloud.

Agreed, some of us are doing exactly what 'they' want. But instead of giving us the peace love and happiness spill, how bout I give you a short lesson in life.

Peace love and happiness are ok for a few, but not for all. If you are at peace, filled with love and happy with everything, then something's about to crash down on your beautiful little life and bring you back to reality.

From the moment you first draw breath, life is about pain. You can either succumb to it or learn to balance it with joy. If every one were all about the peace, love and happiness, it'd be a damn dull world.

I've always admired you people. It takes alot to be able to look out at the world and think it's still nice and shiny when there are so many things, sometimes LITERALLY, slapping you in the face to show you otherwise.

Everyone's life-perspective is different. I like challenges. I like change. I like debate. I like obstacles to overcome. I'm quite content in the negativity. As long as there is negativity, there are people like me out trying to set it right. Without the constant battle of trying to create the peace love and happiness world that you live in, I would be nothing, empty, and devoid of purpose.

I doubt 'They' want us fighting for other people's happiness. What "they' want is for some champion to stand up on a forum and shout that everyone's falling in with the evil plan from 'they', accusing, ordering, and demanding, then being largely forgotten in a few weeks.

I'm not trying to hammer you down, but you gotta consider the balance of things. If everything were perfect, there would be mass suicides. We are all different, we all have differing opinions, lifestyles, personalities, wants, desires, pet peaves, etc... The differences make up our world. What is negative for you may not be negative for others. Think the BP spill is bad? Think of all of those chemical engineers, steelworkers, specialists, and just plain old everyday Joes that are making a lot of money off Evil Corporation right now. Sure, fish are gonna die, but that was the risk we took by letting them drill there in the first place.

Every failure in the world is your fault. Your responsibility. Because you weren't actively trying to keep it from happening and probably aren't trying to contain the effects, personally. If you aren't involved on the issue one way or the other, where have you got a right to say something's negative, positive, or anything else.

THAT is what THEY want. You to not focus on your own failures. THey want you to believe that you weren't responsible. That the Government or Evil Corporation are at fault so you can hold yourself blameless. THEY are at fault... they have to clean up the mess and you're content to shout from your soapbox while doing basically nothing.

Boards like ATS thrive on negativity because they challenge the mind. Wether you're talking about the LHC, black holes, genetics, 2012, natural disasters, HAARP, UFO's, it's all about positivity. You're pretty positive you don't want to die a horrible death and want to talk about these issues at length to either be prepped to handle them or to understand them on a higher level. That goes for Israel, weapons, Illuminati, you pick the poison.

It isn't negativity. It's your perspective.

I agree that we need to be aware of the events, but I myself have found that I can get so wrapped up in them that they consume me, and then I'm no good for anyone. I think those who have their "heads in the sand" (as ET MAN so appropriately put it), who don't realize what is going on around them, definitely aren't promoting a positive change. But those of us who ARE awake, needn't focus all our time and *energy* on negativity. It is our duty (if you will) to acknowledge it, and then focus on the good that we WANT to see. WE create our reality.

Oh, and just for the record, my stance is that those who are "pre-destined" to awaken and see through the Matrix... WILL. And those who don't are simply not supposed to this time around. We will each have our chance.

I understand your viewpoint, and most of it I agree with. I will say, though, the time for Ego is coming to an end. In the very near future, all that comes with Ego will disappear, and there will be no need for debate or challenges. I see a world of peace, love, compassion and generosity as a beautiful, peaceful, exciting place! I look forward to it! There is enough suffering on our Earth for 1000 lifetimes. Negative, i'm not ready for bliss. As for throwing Ego around (with a capital E) makes me curious. I'm assuming this Ego is from some philosopher and judging by the way you use it, I can safely assume it's not Freud or Nietzsche.

How is Ego wrapped up in this? Without Ego, we are just shells. Ego is our identity, self-perception, and the part of us that controls our own lives. If you want to give THAT up, you have me completely stumped as to the point of your original post.

I fail to understand the intentions of the OP and a large percentage of the posters herein .

This is a CONSPIRACY website . Most ALL conspiracies evolve from a negative viewpoint or action(s).

I agree that Ego is the root of the problem. But I have a couple problems with your post.

We may not be able to have the right to tell people how to live, what to say, etc.. But we do, and should, have the right to question authority and generally challenge what we percieve as "pervasive negativity" whether it be through questionable business practices, political corruption, bad political leadership, etc.. And it is EVERYWHERE these days! It should and will be challenged by people on ATS.. Mainly, I think, just so we might understand the truth for ourselves and be knowledgeable about things people generally aren't. Someone has to ask the tough questions regardless of whether or not others want to hear it. The status quo isn't necessarily innocent in nature.

IMO, you are right in that noone has the right to tell others how to live their lives. Only it's a catch 22 situation in alot of ways. For example, political views of a certain type mean that you believe the government and the country should be run a certain way.. This basically translates to you think people should live their lives a certain way. In alot of ways this is a kind of passive judgementalism which is why alot of people just hate politics altogether.

But it is the tough issues in politics that people are the most passionate about. In alot of ways both sides see each other as negative when that isn't necessarily the case and then nothing constructive gets done. It makes you wonder how much that happens in ordinary daily life.

You can't live your life without fear either.

In alot of ways, you have to expect the worst from people or be blindsided by the unexpected. And it is always more difficult when you are impacted by negativity of other people whether it be emotionally, personally, by current events, or whatever. People will always try to take advantage of other people whether it be monetarily, emotionally or politically without you even knowing about it. Also, just because people take advantage of you doesn't necessarily man they want something in return. Sometimes they want nothing at all (and that's the point). Alot of the tougher issues we discuss on ATS deal are wide in scope but very small sofar as public awareness. I think we should talk about everything whether it be positive OR negative. Our lives are directly impacted by both.

It's a matter of perspective as to whether these news items are "negative" or not. If exposing corruption and finding truth is "negative" to you, I don't even know what to say. Maybe YOU'RE perceiving it like that. Not everyone does. I am relieved. It's wonderful to see this! I see people learning to discern truth from brainwashing. That's good.

One who attends to their garden with Love and positivity is just as much a influence on the vibration of the planet as one who physically aids someone in need. An entity who radiates Love by simply being is as just as much of an effect as one does so externally.

Actually, I'm quite positive that my journey is leading me closer to the truth.

The fact that I choose not to focus all of my energy on the negativeness of said truth is my saving grace.

If you want to stand around with your head in the sand, oblivious to what is happening to your fellow man...Well, that's fine by me.

But DONT, just because you have complacent disregard of said truth, try to influence my opinion, or others who are on the same quest for this freeing knowledge.
