If you register it, they will. That's one of the restrictions I found out about.

Not all cards have this precaution. I got a Capital One card before and I never activated it because I lost it before I could.

Turns out that I was able to be charged for just having the card and not even activating it!!

I did call them and it was SUPER EASY to get away with not paying, so basically they tried to get me to pay a bogus cost. And of course they had to ask my why I wanted to close the card even after I mentioned that I didn't even have it anymore. Such silliness, no means no!!
