Let me get this straight. Because of a verbal altercation, your friend, a man, puts his hands on someone else's belongings and in a fit of rage, scatters them around the airport. Another man approaches your friend and objects to what he did, which nearly provokes a physical fight...

It's not just the feminist movement but also the liberal movement in my opinion...always working towards some distant nonviolent utopia... wanting to ban guns and hunting, banning toy guns in some places, banning contact sports in PE classes...my Fiancee took an early childhood development class and the professor taught them that they should never enforce traditional gender roles in children and in fact should encourage the opposite...making the boys play with dolls and kitchen toys and the girls play with trucks!

One also cannot forget the chemicals and hormones in our water supply... Scientists have seen with fish and amphibians that the males become more female

Blaming the feminist movement for your sexual insecurity is very revealing. Rather, look to the impossibly extreme stereotypes of male and female that are espoused, for example, in fundamentalist religions.

I say impossibly extreme, as those views do not include all the myriad variety of expression on the way to those extremes.

Well, the paradigm is shifting, and with exposure to 50 thousand chemicals a day, expect more intersex people, more impotent men and infertile women. Get used to it, as future generations will have to.

When I heard women talking about a Feminist Movement, I first wondered why anyone in their
right mind would want to get down from the "pedistal" upon which most men had placed women.
I must agree that I had not taken into account the dispairity in the pay structures of many work
places. The places were I worked made no such distinctions in the gender of their employees.

I suppose it was only in my world, at the time, in which women were considered somewhat special
and were to be cared about as well as cared for. This was not intended to hold them back or keep
them in their place, it was simply the way it was.

Since then I have noticed a increasing effort for men to be shown as the blundering baffon in most
movie and television sit-coms. At the same time most women seem to be getting more and more
offended by "blond jokes" which usually portray them as dumb in many aspects. Allow me to
interject something here which I see played out every day. "We are all ignorant about something."
If this were not true, none of us would need a dictionary or encyclopedia, and we would never find
it necessary to ask one another questions. You see "ignorance" simply means there is something
which you don't know; stupid is when you know better and do something anyway.

I once got into trouble by making the simple statement that, "I wished it were not necesary for a
woman who did not want to work could just stay home with her childern, because that is a full time
job in it's self". I said this in response to a woman talking about how she wished it didn't take both
parents working in order to support a family.I quess this was taken as some type of anti-woman thing.


I do believe if there were fewer people in the work force, wages would go up, and if people would buy
less, prices would go down. I say this and at the same time I know that we don't live in this perfect
world. I really would like to say one thing to anyone who goes to the trouble of reading this.
It is my fervent wish that all peoples could learn to live by the teachings of the one man who is
acknowledged by all as "the greatest teacher". Leave your religion somewhere else for a while, pick up a
Bible and read the fifth chapter of "The Gospel of Matheew". These are the teachings of Jesus from His
sermon on the mount and often called the beatitudes. If we, Christians, Jews, Moslems, or Buddists
would simply apply these teachings as the directors of our treatment of others, we would not need a
perfect world.

If we continue to treat each other in the future as we have in the past, we are doomed to the same world
we have always had.

Have you really fallen for that garbage? You think the failure of women to hold positions of influence and achieve stuff in history is mostly because man prevented her from doing so?

According to your comments, I'm guessing you feel I and all males should feel a sense of guilt and regret for the way "we" oppressed women in the past? I guess it's understandable that women are taught to dislike and resent men because of the way "we" oppressed women in the past. This reminds me of something else.

Feminism, while it probably has gone too far should NEVER have been needed. The problem is men over history have squashed a lot of original female thought. How many things did women invent or could have invented or done had someone not turned them off?

No, the problem is interfering in the natural order of things that benefit the collective whole. Survival of the fittest. When external factors are removed, the strongest and best will conquer the weakest. I know this sounds cold but it really is the reality of how things work in this physical world.

I see some tremendous problems in the men at large.

Actually, there are tremendous problems in both men and women at large. The natural order of things has been disrupted and the consequences are what we see today in our current world. I don't mean to be rude, but I feel you have been thoroughly brainwashed to feel guilt over something you did not take part in.

Poor boys. Sitting at the top for so long, now a few women here and there are getting top spots, and men are crying that it's unfair. Most of our grandmothers and some of our mothers didn't have to work outside the home when our fathers or grandfathers brought home enough to live on. Now as both husbands and wives have to work for families to survive, the wives sometimes make more money than the husbands. Poor guys, they lose their self-esteem and can't handle it. The wives ask the husbands to share in household chores. Poor guys, why should they do the laundry? The wives are too tired for sex. Poor guys, somewhere they've heard that women should submit to their husbands' will and needs and demands, but theirs aren't "submitting"....

Men have ruled the roost for millennia. The history of the world is flush with MALE leaders in government, industry, business, sciences, arts, academia.....and in the home. The percentages are still hugely skewed in favor of male dominance in almost every field, and at almost every level of society. If I were a woman, I'd be determined as hell to rock the boat and make it to the top.

Women have come a long way in striving and fighting to be seen as capable as men. Gaining the right to vote. Gaining the right to reach management and then executive positions... During WWII, when men went off to war, who kept industry going in the US? Women. After WWII, what did the men do when they returned from war? Boot women from the industrial jobs and sent them back to their kitchens, and back to the glorified image of woman as sweet vulnerable maidens requiring male protection.

Until about twenty years ago, there were gloom and doom scenarios about massive population growth projected in the coming years. Population growth is still a reality, but not even close to what was projected back then. Why? Because of the empowerment of women - from tiny villages to large cities throughout the world. Women making decisions on when to have children and how many to have. Women managing their finances before their husbands pissed it away on drink....

The empowerment of women is not just an issue that comes up in the US or in Europe. It's a reality that needs to be addressed throughout this planet. Women are still treated worse than animals in many countries: In the Middle East and South Asia and Africa: "honor killings," "female genital mutilation," stoning for adultery..... Until only very recently in some Latin American countries: If a woman or girl was raped, her rapist would not be prosecuted IF he married his victim. (so when a guy wanted a woman, he'd rape her and then force her and her family, out of shame, to marry him...) In the USofA, 42 states still require (not all practice this though) that a woman delivering a baby in prison be restrained and under guard. And on and on and on around the world...

I have zero sympathy for men who complain about women getting ahead. Zero sympathy for men who complain that feminists have upped the ante on gender equality. Zero sympathy for men who feel "diminished" by women. Zero sympathy for reptilian, primitive men who feel they should be the head of the household. Zero respect for men who feel that women are in any way inferior or should be subjugated in any way...

Limits on a man relative to a woman are imposed by himself on himself. As I said above, get off your ass and do something with your life to give yourself the sense of self-worth that you feel is being taken away by empowered women who no longer believe they should walk in the shadow of men.

I agree with your post, but when I read the above sentence, a realization came to me.

For many years, the feminist movement WAS all about striving to be seen as capable, important and as valuable as men. But I think the REAL threat to some men came when (recently) women have stopped using men's success and capability as the measure to which they might wish to attain and started seeing beyond any comparison to men, but instead to being the best person they could be, period. We stopped comparing our successes to men's successes and instead started to search for our own inner happiness and fulfillment. We no longer depend on men's achievements to gauge our own.

I can imagine that many men felt very threatened to realize that women were no longer trying to be "as good as a man", but as good as a woman can be, which before now, hasn't been explored very much. When we no longer needed to compare ourselves to men to gauge our own personal feelings of success, many men probably felt a bit uneasy.

Just a thought. Good post, though.

seriously, you KNOW what the point of this post was... everybody has their breaking point... my mom has hammered into me that I should NEVER under whatever circumstances hit a girl... result? I get a good beating once in a while and my sence of justice tells me this is how things are meant to be... in the end a woman hitting a man is less likely to do some damage right?

when a woman takes a little twig and starts poking it into my face for about an hour I can tell you... she'll eventually get a good punch in the face... and people will condemn that just like you have in your above reply. women use different tactics to hurt people... does the fact that she doesn't get physicall really make things ok? I respect the man described a great deal for being able to not attack the girl herself. And even though its not good to throw her luggage I feel that there can be a whole lot of justifiable reasons for his actions...

Know what bothers me the most? the most feministic women I have met in my life only talk the talk and dont walk the walk... they screw up other marriages professing the woman in another relationship shouldn't put up with... and when returning home she'll just run and make her hubby a nice cup of thee and fetch his newspaper

There is absolutely nothing wrong with women having equal rights and chances in life as men... but fact is, its not equal... 100 years ago women were underapreciated. nowadays they tend to perform just as well if not better then men in lots of fields... but why are we forgetting certain advantages women also gained over the last 100 years? a man is obliged to care for his ex after divorce, women mostly gain custody over kids after divorce, women are able to litteraly point out anyone in a room and accuse them of rape... there are lots of things wich work in favor for women but still its not enough...

And to the ones saying men should do something about it if this bothers them or men feeling threatened should man up and look to themselves? women can make a mans life a living hell... and they frequently do... it doesn't have anything to do with a woman being my boss.. its got everything to do with our wifes... and how this affects family's

Protected in what way? And it is NOT women who have ruined "Normal" family life, but merely a change in the times. Also, people growing up to be criminals fluctuates throughout time due to the economy - Regardless of specific gender of parents.

This issue is always going to be brought up, disected and then left for dead until someone revives it. but the truth is, feminism once served an incredibly useful purpose BUT, as per usual, someone hijecked it a movement and blurred its purpose.

Guys, the truth is simply that you are a victim of feminism. You are also a victim of popular media who wish to try and control you. They want to tell you what to wear, how to think and how to prioristise your life. This is nothing new. The only difference? Alot of guys dont like what they're being told. I dont think half of you would mind if they told you you had to be more manly, such as being the "lumber jack" or the bread winner.

Take a look around, Everyone is victim, regardless of gender. Feminism is just a cog in the machine. The best thing to do is to just not convert to someone elses way of thinking. Dont waste energy on hate, or trying to convince others that this paticular movement is wrong. just accept that you have a mind of youir own and you intend to use it.

Feminism has reached its peak in this part of the world, its time people start using the freedom of free-thinking to be the people they want to be.

true But what I meant to say was that mental abuse IMO is equally condemnable and damaging if not worse then physical abuse. In most cases of physical abuse this factor is not taken into account...

I dont think its right to blame women for this phenomenon but instead its society and partly the daily influence we accept into our lives... Just like with views on christianity, food and vaccinations there is a power in play behind the curtains orchestrating these changes... us sheeple are merely showing the changes they implement

Agreed. And if a person is in a relationship where there is abuse of any kind, they should get out of it. BEFORE things get physical, hopefully.

I wasn't supporting the woman at all. My post was not meant to be a man vs woman thing. I don't believe in such nonsense.

As I said, my point was that the poster blamed the woman for two men ready to beat each other up. I don't care WHAT she said or did in the past, the near-fight over her cannot be blamed on her. That belongs to the two men involved 100%.

Not long ago i heard Germaine Greer say on a womans chat show that men were obsolete, not only that she said men were smelly, brutish and some other nasty stuff and every time she said one of these things she got a massive round of applause from the audience.

Now reverse this, what if a man said stereotypical, sexist things about a woman on tv and got cheers from the crowd. That man would be in major trouble, forced to apologise and generally demonised as a scumbag and typical chauvanist pig.

It seems when a woman is sexist it's empowering and just a bit of fun, when a man is sexist he's a throw back to a bygone era. Men and women are equal, the wage discrepancy in some areas is wrong. However this wage discrepancy doesn't quite match the social discrepancy credited to women.

As mentioned by others, in family court it is the women who are favoured, even if they are the worse choice of parent.

In divorce court it is often the woman who is favoured in splitting the material worth.

In spousal abuse it is women who are favoured, when a man is beaten he is often laughed at, even by the police! Not only that but if a man is being beaten and defends himself he will no doubt be the one going to pirson as his partners story will be accepted over his.

When it comes to the important stuff it seems feminism has swung the other way, no longer is it a noble cause about equal rights, it's about getting more rights for women and screwing men over.

The funny part is that feminists often said if they were in power things would be different, well it's not quite working that way is it. To me it seems modern feminists are actually out for revenge for what happened years ago and how past women were treated. Hardly the superior attitude we were informed the ladies have.

Of course any man voicing his concerns is automatically a sexist pig so we can't win the argument.

And yeah i realise not all women are like this, i just get really annoyed when i see some womans chat show or other and they happily make fun of men and get massive rounds of applause. Oh and another thing, why is it women can have half naked men on the show and everyone cheers, applauds, makes lewd comments and the like but when a women shows herself off on some show or other the new wave of feminists claim this is exploitative and the women have no self respect?

Meh the whole things wrong and i'm rambling a bit now but one last thing.

Why do women have "equalizers"? For example in the armed forces they can use stools to climb walls which are to high for them, they don't have to complete the tracks in the same time as the men. How is this equal? Surely to be truly equal it means you do the same thing, in the same way.

I can understand some of where you are coming from. If you see a woman or child in danger it is in your nature to "step up". As a species we have been doing this for a long time, our very natures demand that we protect that which we have invested our immortality. Were the roles reversed in your example the male in the argument would be seen as weak, yet we are intelligent enough to see beyond this.

What a joke, I think men have ruined their image through lying, greed, physical abuse, pedophilia, rape, rape and more rape, porn and really bad hygiene, false gods, dumb sports, stupid endless wars, and trying to rule over everything, to end up just killing and destroying everything that is pure, natural and beautiful. You have had your reign and have shown yourselves to be no big deal, so to all you young girls out there that think its cool to support these idiots - wake up and take charge, fight back when they try to hurt you.
